About this ebook
Living a life of sin for many years had me in bondage. I was a slave to sin. I was living my life a lie, wanting to find the truth. I have fought the demon for many years. To defeat the demon, you've got to find out what demons fear. See, the devil and his demons like to plant fear in you and feed off it. If you don't give them no fear to eat, they will soon get weak and die. You can't play around with Satan and his evil army, because they are not playing. If they are not playing, well, neither am I. I fear nobody but God. It wasn't until I gave my life to Jesus Christ that I began to feel free. You see, at the shout of the name "Jesus," we know the demons tremble. I am no longer a friend of this evil world; I am a friend of God's. I am protected, guided, and comforted. I feel like a bird that has been let out of the cage I've been in for years. And these wings that God gave me were meant to fly. I will now soar all the way to my destiny, feeling like a free bird, thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ! Amen! Jesus is the Truth and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through the Son. And Jesus is the Son of God. He rose from the dead after three days with all power in his hands. God is in control. So if you want true freedom, try Jesus. He's all right.

Chapter 1
As a Child
My cousin Cash (right) that has all the parties in the neighborhood
In October of 1999, five of my friends and I were headed to the State Fair. We were drinking and smoking on the way, having a ball. We met some girls there and hung out with them after the Fair on the Army base where they were stationed. We met some military women! We were having a great time drinking and acting a fool. Then we realized it was starting to get late. The fellows and I decided it was time to head back home. All five of us got into the car, and I jumped in the front passenger seat. On the way home, everybody in the back seat fell asleep. I was dozing off but not asleep; to where I couldn’t hear anything. Thank God, because the driver kept falling asleep, running out of the road. What really woke me up was when I heard the car go off the road, and when I opened my eyes I saw a mailbox coming at us—really, we were headed to the mailbox, but you know what I’m saying.
Well, I grabbed the steering wheel and brought the car back in the road. I was like, Wake up, man!
I had to keep doing this all the way home. I couldn’t drive, because my license was suspended. All this going on and everyone in the back seat were still sleep. The next day I told them how I saved our lives and I would never get back in the car with this dude if he’s driving.
So around Thanksgivings of 1999, my cousin was having a party. He was the neighborhood money man. He always had the parties, cookouts, concerts, and women around. He kept something going on in the hood. I got drunk—I mean wasted. I had to be drunk out of my mind, because I got back in the car with the guy I said I would never ride with again if he was driving. Never say never.
He, I, and this white girl rode into town, and I don’t even know why I was out of my mind drunk. Not good! I was in the back seat this time, and the girl was in the passenger seat. On the way to town, he lost control of the car. We hit the edge of a bridge, and I was thrown out the back window of the car. My life was over.
Me playing different sports and team photos
My name is Leonard Keeon Watkins. January 31, 1976 is when the struggle begins. This is the day I was born. I grew up to be an intelligent young man. When I was in elementary school I made straight As. My neighbor up the street used to give me a dollar for every A that I made. It was about seven classes, so I would get seven dollars. Now, that may not seem like a lot of money today, but back then at the age of about seven or eight, it was. Life was good to me. I was making good grades, had lots of friends, and had started playing sports. I played football, baseball, and basketball. I was good at all of them, but I loved football the most. In football, I was the quarterback; in baseball, I was the pitcher; and in basketball, I was the point guard. I always seemed to have the control position. This made me even smarter, because I had
