When not writing or teaching, she is her kids own personal Uber driver, watches lots of youth sports that she unwittingly gets into, drinks wine to recover, and tries to learn to say "no" to all the demands being made of mothers while also trying to give her children a magical childhood.   She lives in the suburbs of Los Angeles with her husband and three children.
