Old Testament
Creation
Genesis 1:1, 2:4
God Created the heavens and the earth: day 1, He made light and darkness; day 2, He made the heavens; day 3, He made the dry land and seas; day 4, He made the sun, moon, and the stars; day 5, He made fish and birds; day 6, He made animals, man and woman; day 7, He rested from making His creation. God made a garden east of Eden and placed man (Adam) in it to tend it. Later, God determined man needed a helper, so He created woman (Eve). To create Eve, God put Adam to sleep and took one of his ribs. Because of the way God did this, man and woman are of one flesh, but the woman is at the side of man not over or under; the woman is a helper to man.

Adam and Eve lived in a place called Eden, a garden with all the plants God had made. They could eat from all plants in the garden except the one tree in the middle. They could not eat the fruit of it. One day, Eve was alone in the midst of the garden when the serpent came to Eve and convinced her to eat from the tree that was forbidden. Eve ate of the forbidden fruit and convinced Adam to also eat of it. God came to the garden in the cool of the evening and looked for Adam and Eve. They told God they had hidden because they were
