About this ebook

I wanted my grandchildren to know that on each page of the original manuscript I noted the day and the hour as I wrote that they would understand they were in my mind and heart. So, here's to Colten, Kaden, Jewel, Joy, Dillon and his son Rivers. I am a grandmother thanking her grandchildren for their patience, understanding and love as I wrote t

Write it down in a Book - B.R Rinker

    Trust And Obey Always

    Exodus 16: 16-36

Every morning, all the people went out to pick up manna

Moses told them to take enough for breakfast, dinner, supper

He said, take only a day’s share at a time

    Some again

Took too much. It rotted and had worms.

But on the Sabbath, they were told to take enough for two days because God did not want them to be working on the Sabbath day.

The people who did not listen

    Went to their cupboards

    They had nothing

The ones who did exactly as the Lord had told them found theirs still fresh for the Sabbath.

So, God taught His people they must obey Him and trust Him.

    God Talks to His People

    Exodus 9, 20, 24

The people of Israel followed the cloud

The cloud stopped on Mount Sinai

The people put up their tents

    Moses told the people

In three days, God will come down and talk with you

    You must wash yourself

You must put on clean clothes

The whole top of the mountain

    Seem to be on fire

    With the glory of God

The trumpet blew loud and long

    And then God spoke

You shall not worship any other Gods

He told Moses to come to the top of Mount Sinai so He could give him the Ten Commandments

    And God talked with Moses

    The Golden Calf

    Exodus 32, 33, 34; Deuteronomy 9

They were very anxious for Moses to come down from the mountain.

    They waited and waited

A month went by they went to Aaron

And ask him to make them another god

    Aaron asks them

    To bring gold, bracelets,

The people brought all they had.

Aaron melted it into a golden calf.

    They said:

This is the god that brought us out of Egypt.

The next day they made a feast and they danced around the calf.

They gave the idol credit for bringing them out of Egypt.

    They danced and sang.

    God told Moses

Go down to the people, take these tablets of stone that are my law I wrote.

    Moses saw all this

He threw the stones down. They broke.

Moses ground it into a powder and made the people drink it.

    Moses went into prayer.

Because he prayed so earnestly the Lord forgave them. I will go with them into Canaan. God called Moses to come back to Mount Sinai for forty days to rewrite His laws they waited; They could see he had been with God.

    Making A Tent for God

    Exodus 35-40; Leviticus 8

God ask Moses to tell the people He wanted them to build a big tent for Him.

You shall call it the tabernacle. In that tabernacle

You shall meet with God there, Pray to Him

Bring gifts to Him. Moses asks them

To bring gifts to God they could use.

The Egyptians had given them silver, gold, and beautiful gifts.

Others brought beautiful woods and some brought their jewels.

Then the people worked, the women made beautiful curtains

The men carved beautiful woods, they made an altar

A small one and a large one.

They made a golden lamp that had twelve lights

They made a little box called an ark

They covered the ark with gold. They made two angels of gold bending over the ark. They made a table of gold.

They made beautiful robes for the priest.

    The tent had three rooms.

Moses put the high priest robe on Aaron. It was blue and purple embroidered with gold. There were little bells on the bottom. Moses put a golden crown on Aaron’s head. He hung a breastplate of shining jewels around his neck. The people brought their offerings.

They saw the fire came down from God.

    It was their church.

    Afraid of Giants

    Numbers 13

Eventually, the people of Israel were on the outside of Canaan.

God told Moses to choose twelve men,

One from each tribe of Israel.

    They went as spies

    After a month

    They came back

They all ran to meet them.

It took two of them to carry the grapes on a stick so they would not be crushed.

They had all kinds of fruit.

They told about the strong walls

    The very strong people

    The very big cities.

Caleb told them they could take it,

But ten of the spies said no.

    All night long they cried.

Some wished they had stayed in Egypt.

They could not sleep all night long they had already forgotten that God is greater than any giant.

    Because They Did Not Believe

    Numbers 14: 1-39

The people were afraid to go to the land of the giants.

They cried and wailed all night long.

They accused God of wanting them to die in the wilderness.

    Moses and Aaron were sad.

Caleb and Joshua were good spies for the Israelites

    Caleb told them

The land of Canaan is a wonderful land.

    We will be happy there.

If God loves us, He will give Canaan to us,

    We can go take it.

We do not need to be afraid

    The Lord is with us.

The people began to throw stones at Caleb and Joshua.

They shouted at Moses and Aaron, We do not want our children killed.

Suddenly there was a bright light around the tabernacle.

It was the glory of God shining there.

They stood very still. God ask Moses if the people would ever trust them.

God intended to punish them. They shall no longer be my people. God told Moses only those under twenty years old will see Canaan. Also, Caleb and Joshua because they have trusted Me.

    Their hearts were sad.

    Too Late

    Numbers 14: 40-45

The men of Israel went to Moses and spoke

Yesterday we would not go. That was our sin.

    Now we are ready.

    Moses said, No.

    He told them they could not go now;

God has told you to go back to the wilderness.

You must always obey Him, Moses said.

    They wanted to go anyway.

Moses told them God will not go with you. It is too late now. They would not listen and went anyway. The hill people saw them and came running down the hills. The Israelites saw them and turned around and ran back. They knew they could not win in a fight because they knew God was not with them.

They were ashamed. They went back to their tents. They were sad they had not listened to God then they picked up their tents and headed back to the wilderness.

    The Desert Life

    The Wonder of Aaron’s Rod

    Numbers 17

Moses and Aaron were very busy in the beautiful tabernacle. The gifts were brought to God. Incense was burning.

    Aaron was the high priest.

They began to question Aaron’s priesthood.

    They thought they deserved it.

    God told them

Tell the head men to bring rods to you – one for each tribe of Israel.

That would be twelve rods altogether

He told each of them to put their name on the stick made into a rod.

    Moses went into the tabernacle

He brought each rod out the next day.

Eleven rods were still dead sticks.

One of the rods had green leaves.

Moses gave each man his rod back.

Aaron’s rod now had blossoms, green leaves and little brown almond nuts

God had made Aaron’s rod grow.

The people realized it was God that made it grow. And they accepted him as being truly their high priest, that God Himself had chosen. They returned to their tents and Moses put Aaron’s rod back in the tabernacle. There it remained.

    Moses and Aaron Sin

    Numbers 20: 1-13

For many years, the children of Israel still lived in the wilderness

    They lived in tents.

They had their elder parents die there.

    Then God lead them

To go put up their tents on the edge of Canaan.

They had only to cross through the land of Edom.

Then they would be in the promised land

    They could not find water.

The people went to Moses and Aaron.

They did not ask them to pray for water

    They grumbled and scolded.
