    Genesis 1

    Long ago God said, Let there be light , and there was light . The next day he made the sky. On the third day, God made dry ground , plants, flowers , and trees . The fourth day he put the sun and moon up in the sky. On the fifth day, God made fish that swim in the water and birds that fly in the sky. He made more animals and then a man and a woman on the sixth  day. All that he made was very good.

    The First Man and Woman

    Genesis 2:7 – 8, 18, 22 – 25

    The very first man was Adam. God made him out of the dust of the ground . Adam lived in a pretty garden . It was called the Garden of Eden. God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. So God made a woman to be with him. man Her name was Eve. Adam and Eve were happy .

    God does not want us to feel alone.

    A Snake Lies to Eve

    Genesis 3:1 – 6, 23

    God told Adam and Eve, Do not eat the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden . The devil turned into the shape of a snake and talked to Eve. He told Eve it was good to eat the fruit from that tree . The snake was lying! But Eve believed him. She chose to eat the fruit and then gave some to Adam to eat . God was sad because they did not obey him. So Adam and Eve had to leave the garden .

    The devil tells lies.

    The First Rainbow

    Genesis 6:5 – 8:17

    After a while, people in the world became so bad that every thought they had was evil. God was very sad . But there was one man , Noah, who followed God. God told Noah to build a big ark . Then God sent at least two of every animal into the ark . After that, it rained so much that water covered the earth . But God kept Noah, his family, and the animals safe in the ark . God promised that it would never rain that much again. He put a rainbow in the sky as a reminder of his
