Introduction
I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, on June 1, 1979. Times weren’t always the best; I’ll be honest, it was rough. Although I was loved, I made decisions in life that caused a lot of hurt to myself and others that I’m not proud of. Through life lessons, I overcame those hard times and became the greater person I was made to be today, even beyond what I could imagine.

Detroit, Michigan 1984, Momma was at home cooking dinner and cleaning the house for the night. It was about 8:23 p.m. This night, my cousin Valorie and a childhood friend came to visit. Granddad was in his wheelchair; Daddy was sitting in his chair talking mess as usual to Momma. Dad always felt the need to disrespect Mom, but she loved him and didn’t believe in divorce. Momma often recited Bible verses. Her response would be, Just pray about it.
I sat there listening to their plans about going to the bar I wanted to hang out to. Momma wasn’t the type to hang out at the bars, but Dad did. My dad loved
