    A True Story

    (Well, Most of It.)

    You may not believe all of this, but most of it is true.

    When you finish reading, you’ll know who is who.

    It was early one morning and drizzling rain.

    I kept hearing the word Who? over and over again.

    It came from the forest and it was loud and clear.

    Curiosity got the best of me and so I drew near.

    There perched on a low limb of a Sycamore tree

    was an old grey owl looking right down at me.

    Years later I realized who that Who? was to be.

    I’ve read as owls grow older, they become wiser, too.

    I’m inclined to believe some of that is true.

    I think wisdom and old age often go together.

    Like the old owl, I’ve survived some very tough weather.

    So, I thought I would share the lessons I have learned

    and become the wise old owl I
