The Artistry of an Artist, Lorenzo Green: Just in Time for the Hair Salon Guest

About this ebook
Why did I write this book? The number one reason I wrote it is because of the love I have for the business. This is a business that I wake up to as I wait for the alarm to go off. It's a business that I dream about while sleeping. It's a business that I wake up to throughout the night with thoughts and ideas of how to make it better. It's a business where I envision styles, cuts, and color. It's a business that has never been "work" for me but rather a joy, a happiness, and a feeling that I've pleased someone.
My book is also about serving customers. It's always about customers––before, during, and after service. The perception of success of such interaction is dependent on employees who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest. This is why good customer service typically means providing timely, attentive, upbeat service to a customer and making sure their needs are met in a manner that reflects positively on the company or business.
I started writing this book nineteen years ago, and eight years ago, I gave it my subtitle: "Just in Time for the Hair Salon Guest." My book is also about my son, who is physically challenged, and my two daughters. You should value your guests over anything else. Respond to them quickly and efficiently. You need to communicate with the guests with empathy and understanding. Always prepare for tomorrow because it is coming. What will you be doing when it gets here?

A man's gift opens doors for him, and before the great, it gives him access to important people. A man's gift makes room for him.

About This Book
This book is for the hairstylist and the hair guest. I want to teach the hairstylist how to get customers, retain customers, and expand your business through retail of hair products. This book is also for the hair guest because you are the most important aspect of the beauty business, and you deserve the best services possible.
Today the beauty industry is a multibillion dollar industry. The entrepreneur who is organized and operates and assumes the risk for business ventures, the market is yours. When the consumer comes to a mall or just decides to go shopping, he or she is looking for the merchant whose product is marketable. I can't over emphasize this.
I remember in the 1990s, I worked in Manassas, Virginia, at Manassas Mall at Regis Hair Salon, and one morning, I opened at 10:00 a.m. and I noticed a lady entering the mall. I didn't pay much attention because it's normal for ladies to park and wait for the mall to open. Now this was my day to close, so around seven thirty that evening, I went down to the food court to get dinner, and whom did I see? It was the same woman who came in when I opened. I said this is unbelievable! She is still here, and so I said to myself, She is trying to find something else to buy. I walked up to her and said, My name is Lorenzo. What's your name?
She said, Carolyn.
I said, I work at Regis Hair Salon, and I would love to do your hair.
I touched her on the arm with a little push and said, I can do it now.
