About this ebook

There is that saying about how small town life is in your blood and, once you know it, it is hard to leave. Jade grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. During high school she planned on graduating, going to college, and moving far far away. The first one happened, but not the other two. She did move, just from her family farm to living in town. She worked as a waitress and rarely ever saw someone come in she could see herself dating. However, she was getting irritated by her parents always asking her about a boyfriend whenever she visited home. Valentine's Day was coming and it just felt right to try out an app she found called Rightly Swept.

Jess also had parents that wouldn't stop asking if he found someone for marriage. He lived near his college's campus just so it saved time traveling to classes and his internship at the nearby hospital. Between studying and working, it didn't leave much free time, let alone enough to build a lasting relationship. Complaining to another intern after his parents teased him on Christmas, they took his phone and created a quick profile on Rightly Swept.

Once Jess sees Jade's profile show up in his reel, he feels like he has known her forever. Before he knows what he is doing, he swipes right for a meet up. Maybe if she accepts and things work out, they'll have dates by their family's Easter dinners.

    Chapter 1

    Jade

Throwing her slightly damp brown hair into a ponytail, Jade looked herself over in the mirror. She was never one to truly care about her appearance but, as a waitress, she had to think about the customers and what brought the most tips. Jade wasn’t proud of that fact, either. She wore tight jeans, boots with heels, and a blouse that showed off some cleavage without revealing her bra.

As the saying goes, sex sells, and it was just a part of her life. At least she wore clothes, and the hint of skin was just an illusion. Jade was used to her job by now. She had started working at the Bluegill Bar and Grill when she got her driver’s license at sixteen. Back then she couldn’t serve alcohol so she worked as a busser and made barely enough money to cover the gas to get there from her parents’ farm.

Back then, she had big dreams. Jade was going to work hard to save up money and go off to a college for that big college experience. Plus, she always wanted to move away from her parents who loved to butt into her life and away from the small town gossip mentality. But she didn’t go off to college and she never moved away. Well, except for moving from her parents house to living in an apartment in the small town, barely twenty minutes away.

Jade knew that with her food service experience over the last eight years, she could have gotten a job anywhere and moved further away. She just never did. She kept her same place of employment, just different positions, and the same apartment she had seen advertised when she had turned eighteen. Some days she wondered if she was just too afraid of taking chances and just stayed because her current life was a safe bet.

The only thing she didn’t like about her job was some of the customers who knew her as a young child now seemed like dirty old men. The people who didn’t know her treated her with more respect. Those familiar faces were more open about looking at her breasts and trying to grab her ass while asking if she would ever give them a chance. For the sake of tips and the ability to pay her bills, she always responded mysteriously with, You never know. Just saying that reply left a sour taste in her mouth every time, but she was a professional at keeping a smile by now. Until she got home and could gargle with an entire bottle of mouthwash.
