At 8-years-old, Ty is told by his father the hotel is his reponsibility. Ty is told his parents are leaving. For ten years, Ty secretly runs the hotel with only one person noticing. Wayne does not make himself known to Ty. When Ty is 18, Gabriel (18) starts working at the hotel. Gabriel feels he is led to work there. He tries to befriend Ty. Ty is used to being alone and resists. When Ty gets hurt saving Gabriel and his cousin Nick (9) during a bad storm, his life starts to change. Ty does not understand why they care. When he leaves the hospital, Gabriel's father (Chris) insists Ty move in with him, Gabriel, and Gabriel's brother (Jye). Ty says he will stay until he is healed. Gabriel and his family try to help Ty. Wayne continues to watch over Ty.

INT. – SPENCER HOTEL, OFFICE – 11 A.M.

TY, 8, shoulder length straight brown hair, intense blue eyes, dressed in a long sleeve black shirt, black jeans, and black tennis shoes, watches as FRANK walks over.

FRANK

You will be staying here and taking care of things.

TY

I don’t know anything about taking care of a hotel.

FRANK

You graduated high school at 8-years-old even though you did not start classes until you were almost 8. You breezed through school like it was nothing. You can run this hotel on your own.

FRANK

(beat)

Do all communications through computers. No one is to see you. If they see you they will put you in an orphanage.

TY

Where will you be?

FRANK

Your mother and I are leaving. Everything concerning this hotel is your responsibility now.

Frank walks out.

INT. – SPENCER HOTEL, OFFICE – ELEVEN HOURS LATER

Ty is lying on the couch. He is crying.

INT. - SPENCER HOTEL - FOUR YEARS LATER, MIDNIGHT

WAYNE, 34, brown hair, hazel eyes, dressed in a long sleeve button down tan shirt, black pants, and black shoes, is standing facing the office door.

INT. – SPENCER HOTEL, OFFICE - MEANWHILE

Ty is lying on the couch. His eyes are closed.

INT. - SPENCER HOTEL - NINE HOURS LATER

MAN ONE watches as Wayne walks over.

MAN ONE

I never see the owner or the manager.

WAYNE

Is everything being taken care of?

MAN ONE

WAYNE

MAN ONE

Wayne walks off.

EXT. – BRIDGE – MIDNIGHT

Ty is standing on a bridge rail. The bridge is empty. Ty is looking at the water below.
