About this ebook

There are some people who emanate from their whole being a healing force and who see beyond the limits of matter with their psychic sight.

They are the healers and seers. I am about to write about the healing emanation (also called, depending on the authors, bio-magnetism or bio-radiant energy), and clairvoyance, of these two particular faculties of the human being, closely related to each other, encouraged by my experience when I practiced medicine among the Ashanti people of Ghana.

Since then, in the belief that the human person is composed of spirit, soul and body, I have continued uninterruptedly to cultivate by observation and practice, an interest in these phenomena, which have their origin in the spiritual dimension of the human being.

Bio-radiant Medicine (Translated) - Emilio Fattori

    INTRODUCTION

There are some people who emanate from their whole being a healing force and who see beyond the limits of matter with their psychic sight.

They are the healers and the seers. I am going to write about the healing emanation (also called, depending on the authors, bio-magnetism or bio-radiant energy), and clairvoyance, of these two particular faculties of the human being, which are closely related to each other, encouraged by my experience in the years 1960 and 1961, when I practiced medicine among the Ashanti people of Ghana.

Since then, in the belief that the human person is composed of spirit, soul and body, I have continued uninterruptedly to cultivate through observation and practice, an interest in these phenomena, which have their origin in the spiritual dimension of the human being.

Ignoring this dimension, it is impossible, in my opinion, to conceive of the functions of seership and healing emanation in their full extent. So too, it is impossible to understand the extreme scope of the Jerash episode (Mark 5:1-20; Luke 8:26-37; Gadara according to Matthew 8:28-34) while similar phenomena are revived even today by the great contemporary Masters of India and in the vast spiritualist cultural movement of Brazil. First I realized that among the Ashanti the belief that during sleep the astral body leaves the physical body and wanders outside it has deep roots. The explanation of this belief, imparted by ethnologists and psychologists, does not go much beyond the limit of curiosity, albeit cultivated curiosity, which attributes it to superstition, empty of any deeper meaning, as the result of ignorance and primitive thinking. I confess that to this way of seeing I too, at first, conformed. But one day a Master of Islam, lifted for me a little the veil on the ancient Prophets of Israel. I became convinced then, that the exit of the astral body, was the cause of that popular belief so widely held.

Since among human beings those who are endowed with clairvoyance and vitalizing emanation, that is, those who possess considerable psychic development, though a good number, still represent a minority, it follows that the latter only can participate in that kind of phenomena, while the majority come to know about it exclusively through the accounts and reports of the former. Between one and the other, therefore, there remains a wide margin of shadow, in which it is easy to nurture envy, misunderstanding and slander.

It must be said, incidentally, that this was the situation responsible, with the ignorance and fanaticism of those times, for thousands of burnings, with which the Holy Inquisition literally lit the squares all over Europe.

Clairvoyance, also called clairvoyance, is a quality, or if you prefer a gift, of the human spirit, as are the gifts of music, painting, mathematics, etc. The potentiality of these functions of the spirit does not depend on culture, nor on the purported degree of civilization. Instead, their development, and their exercise, depend strictly on the mental scheme, and cultural framework of a population, referring to a given epoch.

Many psychically developed people possess one or the other of these faculties, while a smaller number only possess both. Very few, however, in our society so far pursue their development.

Most, from childhood, let them fall into disuse, abandoning their observation and exercise. Education, traditional custom, religious superstition, limited conceptions and insights discourage most of those who are gifted with them, exerting on them a psycho-inhibiting effect that blocks, as I have already mentioned, first the development and then the employment of these faculties that belong to man's spirituality.

It can be said, in psycho-analytic language, that the superego (i.e., the whole environment) concurs to destroy in the greatest number of cases, the faculties of clairvoyance and vitalizing emanation, through censorship and removal. So that although the germs of these psychic possibilities remain, in the great reservoir of the unconscious, they no longer find their way to manifest and develop for the good and usefulness of all. These gifts thus remain at the level of sparks destined to die after a sterile attempt at life.

Without any possibility of development, confined to the depths of the various individual unconscious, these mighty but unexpressed archetypes are destined to influence the collective unconscious to such a degree, whereby, ever alive re-emerges in men the desire to rediscover in themselves those powers that tacitly are felt to be present, but which, due to the fact that they have been forcibly removed, peep out only through a halo of fear and distrust.

This explanation of the obstacles to the development of psychic functions that are natural to man is particularly valid as it relates to our Western world, whose cultural and therefore mental scheme, on the one hand so prolific in discoveries and achievements in the application of materialist science, is just now seeing opening before it the horizon of a scientific conception of the Universe, which rests on the conceptual conquest of a fourth dimension. The peoples of the third world, freer at least in this respect, provide us with a valuable aid in feeling ever more deeply within ourselves that at some level, soul and body, spirit and matter, find their common denominator in the universal principle of Energy. The fact that other civilizations and cultures, from Africa to India and China, had long ago acquired the cognition of such an expression of cosmic phenomenology, serves us today to better understand the merits, but also the limitations, of our Western culture, where criticism and skepticism (of course in the name of higher scientific rigor) have almost completely extinguished the wonderful gift of intuition. Without this, the whole harvest of analogical relationships linking together phenomena of the Universe is lost. In any case, the limits of our thinking in the West are dictated from time to time, by fideism and materialism, variously cloaked and disguised, whose only possibility of coexistence is now due only to the economic interest that binds together the hegemonic groups that represent them.

Their immediate expression on the social level is in fact the consumer society, which is supposed to be a chance for man to live a better life, but which in reality is nothing more than the enchainment of the human mind to the principle of the worship of the golden calf (Exodus - ch. 32, 1-24). This leads to the destruction of the Tablets of Law and the transcendental principle of Science. As a result, the psycho-spiritual development of the people is restricted to the narrow and horizonless sphere of earthly immanence.

Another reason that encouraged me in writing about these topics is due to the fact that in other countries, particularly in Federal Germany and some Swiss cantons, the figure of the healer, that is, the one who makes use in addition to other therapeutic modalities, of the emanation of healing power and clairvoyance, has official recognition. While in other countries, again in the European sphere, there are in fact thousands of healers operating, as indeed here in Italy as well, who with greater or lesser ability and knowledge, act as an adjunct to traditional medical science. They exist de facto because they succeed many times where classical therapeutic intervention fails.
