The Old Testament Ends Where the New Testament Begins

About this ebook
Christianity believes that the New Testament is a continuation of the Old Testament, and that the New Testament and the Old Testament, comprising the Christian Bible, should be treated as “One Word of God.”
This book explains why this cannot be so.
Happy reading!

The Old Testament Ends Where the New Testament Begins
FIVE REASONS why the Christians believe that the New Testament is a continuation of the Old Testament, and that the New Testament and the Old Testament, comprising the Christian Bible, should be treated as One Word of God
| REASON # 1 | Jesus, himself, has mastery of the Scriptures concerning himself which we now call the Old Testament
REASON # 2 | Jesus loves quoting from the Old Testament where it is estimated that over one-tenth of Jesus’ words in the Gospel were taken from the Old Testament
REASON # 3 | Jesus approves of Yahweh’s Ten Commandments
REASON # 4 | Jesus is prophesied in the Old Testament
REASON # 5 | Jesus said he came not to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfill them
TEN REASONS why the New Testament can never be a continuation of the Old Testament, neither can the Old Testament and the New Testament, comprising the Christian Bible, be treated as One Word of God
| REASON # 1 | Jesus is not in complete agreement with the Old Testament. He only chooses those words that are insofar compatible with life, even as he enhances those that are destructive to life.
REASON # 2 | Jesus also agrees with the Old Testament only insofar as they concern his being prophesied as the coming Messiah. Beyond the prophecies, however, he refuses to have any connection at all whatsoever with the Old Testament. In the entire Old Testament, not once did the name JESUS
appear.
REASON # 3 | Jesus also uses the Old Testament as a tool for argument. To make his argument valid, he must also quote from the Scriptures. In Jesus’ day, there was no New Testament as yet. He is the New Testament and he cannot use himself as a valid basis for arguing.
REASON # 4 | If Jesus were the Son of Yahweh, he would have accepted the law of Yahweh as HIS LAW.
But that is not the case: Jesus disowns the law. He calls Yahweh’s law the law,
your law,
your own law,
their law,
this law,
and the law of Moses
but never my Father’s law
or my law
or our law.
Effectively, the Old Testament, being largely the LAW OF YAHWEH, is being rejected by Jesus.
REASON # 5 | Jesus directly and boldly condemned Yahweh, the only Father of the Jews
REASON # 6 | Jesus rejected the Scriptures [the Old Testament] as the way to salvation; he is the way, the truth, and the life—not
