Did You Know? of the Bible
Author

Minister Dennis J. Godfrey Sr.

Minister Dennis J. Godfrey’s Autobiography Born on the 23rd of September, to the parents of Henry Lee and Pearline Godfrey. He is the 3rdoldest, but the oldest son of the eight children produced by his parents. Born in the housing projects of Chicago, located at 1410 West 14th Street. His parents later moved to another housing project, Raymond Hillard Homes on 22nd street, on the Southside of Chicago. This is where it all started to happen. The family became Christians, led by their mother, better known as Dolly. She converted the family over to Christianity and began to hold prayer meetings with the family at night. I was only seven years old when it all happened. It was during one night during the family’s prayer meeting. The Spirit of the Lord moved upon my mother, and she began to prophesy and lay hands. She laid hands on me and said, “the Spirit of the Lord was upon me, and there was a calling upon my life, I would be a minister for the Lord.” It was after this, I began to study and enjoy reading the Bible. I became an ordained minister and began to teach the word after becoming Sunday School Superintendent. I ‘ve been a minister for over 30 years. Married to my wife Sarah for 38 years. I have two children, my eldest is my son DJ and next would be my daughter Candyce. I have a 3-year-old granddaughter affectionally known as Cupcake. My daughter and granddaughter both reside in North Carolina My father later began to pastor a church, Christ Revival Center. I acted as the assistant Pastor with my father. After my mother died, my father disbanded the church. I moved my membership to St. James C.O.G.I.C, where Bishop Campbell was the pastor. I later became the Sunday School Supt. It was over 10 years I served in this position. While working for the bank, I also started what was known as “Corporate Bible study.” This went very well, many would take their lunch and attend the study of the Sunday School Lesson for that week. It was well attended by many. I also began to improve upon my study the word of God and later attended Grace Theological Seminary, where I received both my bachelor’s and master’s degree in the Bible.

    Old Testament

    The Pentateuch

The first five books of the Bible that make up the Pentateuch are the beginning of God’s progressive revelation to man. In Genesis we find the beginning of creation, the fall of man, the promise of redemption, the beginning of human civilization, and the beginning of God’s covenant relationship with His chosen nation, Israel.

Following Genesis we have Exodus, which records God’s deliverance of His covenant people from the bondage of slavery and the preparation for their possession of the Promised Land that He had set aside for them. Exodus records the deliverance of Israel from Egypt after 400 years of slavery as promised by God to Abraham (Genesis 15:13). In it we find the covenant God makes with Israel at Mount Sinai, instructions for building the tabernacle, the giving of the Ten Commandments, and other instructions on how Israel was to worship God.

Leviticus follows Exodus and expands on the instructions for how a covenant people (Israel) were to worship God and govern themselves. It lays forth the requirements of the sacrificial system that would allow God to overlook the sins of His people until the perfect and ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ would provide redemption and completely atone for the sins of all of God’s elect.

Following Leviticus is Numbers, which covers key events during the 40 years that Israel wandered in the wilderness as well as additional instructions for worshiping God and living as His covenant people. The last of the five books that make up the Pentateuch is Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy is sometimes referred to as the second law or repetition of the law. It records the final words of Moses before the nation of Israel crosses over into the Promised Land (Deuteronomy 1:1). In Deuteronomy we find God’s Law and standards that were given to Israel at Mount Sinai repeated and expounded upon by Moses. As Israel was to move into a new chapter of their history as God’s chosen nation, Moses is reminding them not only of God’s commandments and their responsibilities but of the blessings that would be theirs by obeying God and the curses that would come from disobedience.

The five books that make up the Pentateuch are generally considered to be very important books to the people of Israel. These books do include some key, historical events. While they are called the Torah or the Law, they contain much more than just the law given by God. They provide an overview to God’s plan of redemption and provide a backdrop to everything in Scripture that would follow. Like all the Old Testament, the promises, types, and prophecies contained in the first five books of Scripture have their ultimate fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ. They provide the important historical backgrond needed to set the stage for the coming Kinsmen Redeemer

Did you know? Adam and Eve had more children. Some Bible readers might think Adam and Eve had only the three children: Cain, Able, and Seth. But according to the Bible, they had more, even some daughters. Genesis 5:4 says, And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters. Did you know?

Did you know? Missing rib? I think not. Genesis 2:21 says, So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to come over the man, and he slept. God took one of his ribs and closed the flesh at that place. Interestingly, ribs have amazing regrowing powers. Portions of rib bone and cartilage removed in bone graft surgery will regrow in a few months’ time if the rib perichondrium is left intact. This means that Adam’s loss of a rib was only temporary; he did not have to go through the rest of his life with an incomplete skeletal system. Did you know?

Did you know? All the following people have one thing in common: they were all Jews placed in high positions by foreign governments. Joseph became next in charge only to Pharaoh (Genesis 41:40–44). Esther became queen of Media-Persia (Esther 7:1–6). Mordecai became a leader among the Jewish people within the Medo-Persian kingdom (Esther 8:1–10). Daniel was placed over presidents within the kingdom by Medo-Persian King Darius (Daniel 6:1–9). Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 5:5 says that when Adam died, he was 930 years old. He and Noah died near the same age. Genesis 9:29 says, And all the days of Noah were (950) nine hundred and fifty years: and he died. Did you know?

Did you know? Women, you can thank Eve. One of the punishments given to Eve by God or the eating the fruit off the forbidden tree was that, besides childbirth pains, her husband would now rule over her. Here, the theme of authority and subjection is introduced. If Adam and Eve lived in harmony with God, harmony with each other was assured. It was only after her sin that God brought authority and having the rule into the picture. Genesis 3:16 says, Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. Did you know?

Did you know? There was no rain. According to the Bible, it was a mist from the earth and not dew that watered the earth before the flood. Genesis 2:6 says, But there went up a mist from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. Did you know?

Did you know? Back in the days of the Bible, you were to place your hand underneath the thigh of another person and promise them you would do as they asked. See Genesis 24:2, 9 and 47:29. Did you know?

Did you know? Evidence of the existence of the Trinity is in the first chapter of Genesis. Genesis 1:2 says, "And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (emphasis added). And Genesis 1:26 says, And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth" (emphasis added). Did you know?

Did you know? For your understanding, Genesis 6:2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all whom they chose. This scripture causes all kinds of confusion when either talked about or mentioned. First, angels were never considered sons of God. The sons of God were the male descendants of Seth, and the daughters of men were the female descendants of Cain. According to this view, what occurred in Genesis 6 was an early example of believers marrying unbelievers. The good sons of Seth married the bad daughters of Cain, and the result of these mixed marriages was a mongrel/giant offspring. These later became known for their decadence and corruption; indeed, it reached such a degree that God was forced to intervene and destroy the human race. Remember, angels have no sexual organs or reproduction capabilities. Seth was the replacement godly son for Abel. Did you know?

Did you know? Satan used the same approach toward Christ as he used against Eve in the garden of Eden. Genesis 3:6 says, And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desire to make one was wise.

    1. The lust of the flesh was accomplished in that the tree was good for food. Matthew 4:3 says, If you be the son of God command that these stones be made bread.

    2. The lust of the eyes was fulfilled in that it was pleasant to the eyes. Matthew 4:5 says, Than the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on pinnacle of the temple.

    3. And the pride of life was achieved through Eve’s belief that it was a tree to be for food and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desire to make one was wise. Matthew 4:8 says, Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceedingly high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. Did you know?

Did you know? There are only two men mentioned in the Bible who, without dying, were taken up by God into the heavens. These two men were Enoch and Elijah. Genesis 5:24 says, And Enoch walked with God, and he was not; for God took him. Second Kings 2:11 says, And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. But Elijah, who was over the time of the prophets, is also seen again on the Mount of Transfiguration with Christ (Matthew 17:1–13). Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 5:25 says, And Methuselah lived a hundred eighty and seven years, and begot Lamech. Lamech is the father of Noah (Genesis 5:30). This would make Methuselah Noah’s grandfather. It is stated that the longest-living person in the Bible was Methuselah, who lived for 969 years. Did you know?

Did you know? There were only two recordings in the Bible of talking animals. (1) Gen. 3:1: Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (2) Num. 22:28: And the LORD opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times? Did you know?

Did you know? There are only three women besides Eve, who were mentioned or known by name before the flood. 1. Adah, Lamech’s 1st wife, 2. Zillah, Lamech’s 2nd wife, Genesis 4:19. 3. The sister of Noah, Naamah. Genesis 4:19. Did you know?

Did you know? The first two drunkards mentioned in the Bible are mentioned in the book of (1) Genesis, Noah, Genesis 9:21, And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. (2) Lot, Genesis 19:21, And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Did you know?

Did you know? There were only two gardens mentioned in the whole Bible. These two gardens are Eden and Gethsemane. Genesis 2:8-15, Eden, is where sin was created by Adam. Remember, Eve did not create sin, it was Adam. Eve was deceived, Adam disobeyed, God told Adam, He asked Adam, were art thou? The second garden is Gethsemane (place of the oil press), Matthew 26:36-46, is where Christ suffered and prepared to forgive all sin. Did you know?

Did you know? It is mentioned in the book of Genesis, the only two men recorded in the Bible, to have ever walked with God. (1) Enoch, Genesis 5:24, "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him" and the other was Noah, Genesis 6:9, (2) "These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." Did you know?

Did you know? It was Cain who built a city and named it after his son. Genesis 4:17, And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bore Enoch: and he builded a city, and name the name of city, after the name of his son, Enoch. Did you know?

Did you know? The first color mentioned in the Bible is Green. Genesis 1:30, And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for food: and it was so. Did you know?

Did you know? The custom of the Jews was not to embalm the body of their dead, the Egyptians did. It was a regular procedure in ancient Egypt to embalm people of prominence. Joseph commanded his servant to embalm his father, Jacob. Genesis 50:2-3, And Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father; and the physicians embalmed Israel. And forty days were fulfilled for him (for so are fulfilled the days of those who are embalmed), and the Egyptians mourned for him threescore and ten (70) days. Did you know?

Did you know? Sweat is a direct result of sin. The body had never produced sweat until God punished Adam for his sin in the garden, for disobeying and eating of the forbidden fruit. Genesis 3:19, In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. But sweat is one thing that Christ dealt with as He prepared to go to the cross, Luke 22:44, And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling to the ground. But also, God never wanted the priest to sweat while performing his duty as priest, Ezekiel 44:18, They shall have linen bonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen breeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat." Did you know?

Did you know? It was after Adam sinned, did God curse the ground and bring forth thorns, Genesis 3:18, Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; But, what is most interesting is that a crown of thorns was used against Christ, Matthew 27:29, And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!" Did you know?

Did you know? There are nine (9) covenants of the Bible. Each of the nine covenants were created by God and required a blood sacrifice. There were the Edenic (Gen. 2:16), God opening of Adam’s side to make Eve, the Adamic (Gen. 3:15), the killing of the animal to clothe Adam & Eve, the Noahic (Gen. 9:16), the first thing Noah did when he left the Ark and came upon dry land was to make an altar and make a sacrifice. Abrahamic (Gen. 12:2), God commanded Abraham to sacrifice five specific offerings. These were a heifer, a she-goat, a ram, a turtledove and a young pigeon. The Mosiac (Exod. 19:5), the Blood-God established with the Children of Israel the sacrificial system. God was very particular about how the sacrificial blood of each animal was handled. The blood of the sacrificial offering was to be sprinkled upon the furnishings of the Tabernacle, though most often it was upon the brazen altar. the Palestinian (Dt. 30:3), the Blood-Follow the pattern laid down in the Mosaic Covenant Sacrifices the Davadic (2 Sam. 7:16), The Blood-David followed and was under the Abrahamic Covenant, the Mosaic Covenant, the Palestinian Covenant and the Davidic Covenant and the New Covenant (Heb. 8:8), the blood of Christ is the most holy and precious thing. And Everlasting Covenant, the Blood - Because the covenant of God involves both the creation and redemption of man, and because God foresaw the fall of man, the Everlasting Covenant necessitated the incarnation of the eternal Son of God. Did you know?

Did you know? Meet me at the well. It is noted that three patriarchs of the Israel/Bible found their wives at the well. 1. Isaac found Rebekah - Genesis 24:62-64. 2. Jacob found Rachel - Genesis 29:1-12 and Moses found Zipporah - Exodus 2:15-21. Did you know?

Did you know? The word Theophany is an appearance of God in the form of a human, a divine manifestation. There is a difference, this is not the appearance of Christ or an angel, but God. This only appears in the Bible five (5) times. (1) Genesis 12:7, And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. (2) Ezekiel 40:3, And He brought me thither, and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand and a measuring reed; and he stood in the gate. (3) Ezekiel 43:6, And I heard Him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me. (4) Daniel 8:15, And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me one with the appearance of a man. (5) Daniel 10:5, "Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:" Okay, God’s appearance to Moses in the burning bush (Exod. 33:22), can count on this. That would make the 6th. Did you know?

Did you know? Both Abraham and Moses were married to a black woman? It was after the death of Sarah, Abrham’s first wife did he marry again. Genesis 25:1-2, "Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. It was from this union were the Midianites created. They were a group (blacks) that aggravated the children of Israel. Moses married Zipporah. Exodus 2:21, And Moses was content to dwell with the man: and he gave Moses Zipporah his daughter." This man who gave Moses his daughter was Reuel/Jethro a priest of the Midianites. Did you know?

Did you know? In the days of the Bible marriages were usually arranged by the parents. Young people would not marry who they desired. Esau was in trouble because he married contrary to his parents’ wishes Genesis 26:34-35, And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: who were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. There is the mentioning of only one to find thier own mate, that would be Samson, Judges 14:2, And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. Did you know?

Did you know? When the children of God decided to build a tower to reach heaven, God first caused confusion with their language and named the place Babel which means confusion or confused, and secondly scattered them abroad, Genesis 11:9, Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. Did you know?

Did you know? There are (3) three Tamars mentioned in the Bible. The first Tamar is the daughter in law of Judah. Who played the role of a harlot. Genesis 38:24, "And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt." The second would be the full-blooded sister of Absalom, the son of King David. She was raped by her ½ brother Amnon. II Samuel 13:10, And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother. The third and final Tamar mentioned in the Bible is the daughter of the same Absalom. II Samuel 14:27, "And unto Absalom there were born three sons, and one daughter, whose name was Tamar: she was a woman of a fair countenance." Did you know?

Did you know? There are two children in the Bible named to reflect the pain and sorrow their mother endured while giving birth (1) Benoni/Benjamin Genesis 35:18, And so it was, as her soul was departing (for she died), that she called his name Ben-Oni; but his father called him Benjamin. Benoni, meaning son of my sorrow. But it was Jacob who changed his name to Benjamin, meaning son of my right hand. (2) Jabaz, I Chronicles 4:9, And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. Did you know?

Did you know? The missing word in this verse of scripture is "sacrifice Genesis 4:7, If thou doest well, shalt thou are not accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin (sacrifice) lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. It was the norm for the sacrificial offering to be at the door, Exodus 29:11, And thou shalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation." Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 2:17, But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. For this death that Adam would die, was a spiritual death not a natural. The actual meaning of the word death is separation. It was after Adam had eaten of the tree did he separate himself from God. No longer did he and God communicate/connect and have a relationship, for his sin had separated him from God. Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 3:1, Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? It is when reading this passage of scripture, most envision the serpent to be on the ground sliding and looking up toward Eve, but not yet. He had yet to be punished for his sins. Genesis 3:14, "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:" Did you know?

Did you know? Adam is the only person mentioned in the Bible, to try and hide from God. Genesis 3:10, "And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself." Did you know?

Did you know? It was Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve, who served as the replacement for the godly son Abel, after his death by of his brother Cain. Luke 3:38, Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God. Did you know?

Did you know? A kid goat was considered a gift. There are two incidents mentioned in the Bible, where a kid goat was sent as a gift. Judah-sent Tamar, Genesis 38:20, And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not. and Samson brought his wife a kid goat. Judges 15:1, But it came to pass within a while after, in the time of wheat harvest, that Samson visited his wife with a kid; and he said, I will go into my wife into the chamber. But her father would not suffer him to go in. But what is most interesting, neither of the recipients ever received their gifts. Did you know?

Did you know? Joseph is one of the few people whose age is mentioned three different times in the Bible. (1) Genesis 37:2, These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen (17) years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. (2) Genesis 41:46, "And Joseph was (30) thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh and went throughout all the land of Egypt." (3) Genesis 50:26, So Joseph died, being a hundred and ten years old: (110) and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt. Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 38:24, And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt. Let me explain, Judah was considred the priest of his household. It was the practice Leviticus 21:9, If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by prostituting herself, she profanes her father; she must be burned in the fire. But he realized he was guilty, the child she carried was his own and he did not serve the punishment. Did you know?

Did you know? There is only one said to be meditating in the Bible. Genesis 24:63, And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. Did you know?

Did you know? There is only one said to place a veil over her face before getting married in the Bible. Genesis 24:64-65, "And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. Did you know?

Did you know? Two brothers from another mother are mentioned to have purchased Joseph when he is brought up out of the pit by his brothers. Genesis 37:28, "Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt." The Midianites mother was Kenturah (Gen. 25th). The Ishmaeelites mother was Hagar (Gen. 16:3), the bondswoman. While Abraham was the father to both tribal groups. Did you know?

Did you know? There is only one said to shave in the Bible. Genesis 41:14, "Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh." Did you know?

Did you know? Joseph refused to eat with his brothers. It was after Joseph’s brothers returned for more grains during the famine. He had his 11 brothers placed in a separate room, seated by their birth order. Genesis 43:32-33, "And they set on for him by himself, and for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did eat with him, by themselves: because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews; for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright, and the youngest according to his youth: and the men marvelled one at another." Did you know?

Did you know? There are only two men mentioned in the Bible to be both the father and grandfather to their children born. The first would be Lot. Genesis 19:36, Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. The second would be Judah. Genesis 38:24, And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt." Did you know?

Did you know? This promise made was, kept by Moses when he and the children of Israel left Egypt. Exodus 13:19, And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him: for he had straitly sworn the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you; and ye shall carry up my bones away hence with you. All About Noah

Genesis 9:13, I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Did you know? The making of the Ark. Genesis 6:15, "And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. 300 cubits, equals 600 feet. And this is the fashion— According to the description, the ark was not a ship, but an immense house in form and structure like the houses in the East, designed not to sail, but only to float. Assuming the cubit to be 21.888 inches, the ark would be five hundred forty-seven feet long, ninety-one feet two inches wide, and forty-seven feet two inches high. Did you know?

Did you know? The aged old question is asked, exactly how long did Noah preach before the flood? There is no biblical proof that Noah preached for 120 years neither 100 years nor that he even preached. You must use a little math and speculation, Genesis 5:32, And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth If you recall, these three were now married with wives when on the Ark. The Lord made the statement, Genesis 6:3, And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Genesis 7:6, And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of the waters was upon the earth. But there is no biblical proof of how long Noah preached. Did you know?

Did you know? Not only was Noah’s father Lamech, the first to have more than one wife (polygamist), Genesis 4:19, And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. But he was also the second person in the Bible recorded to kill another man. Genesis 4:23-24, And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech! For I have slain a man for my wounding, and a young man for my hurt. If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold." Did you know?

Did you know? Noah is the first mentioned in the Bible to build an altar to offer a sacrifice unto the Lord. Genesis 8:20, And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. This was the reason Noah taken 7 by 7, all the clean animals into the Ark. Read Genesis 7:2, Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Did you know?

Did you know? (Genesis 9:1-3) And God blessed Noah and his sons and to say to them Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth. And a fear of you and a terror of you will continue upon every living creature of the earth and upon every flying creature of the heavens, upon everything that goes moving on the ground, and upon all the fishes of the sea. Into YOUR hand they are now given. Every moving animal that is alive may serve as food for YOU. As in the case of green vegetation, I do give it all to you. But flesh with the life thereof, which is blood thereof, shall ye not eat. It was after the flood, did God allow man to eat meat. Did you know?

Did you know? Noah had a ½ brother by the name of Jubal (Genesis 4:21). Jubal’s mother was Ahad, he was known as the father of all those who handled musical instruments. And his brother’s name was Jubal; he was the father of all such as handled the harp and pipe. Did you know?

Did you know? Noah had a sister by the name of Naamah? Yes. Genesis 4:22, "And Zillah, she also bare Tubalcain, an instructer of every artificer in brass and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was Naamah." Did you know?

Did you know? Genesis 9:20-25, Noah, was a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father’s nakedness. When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him, he said, ‘Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.’" Did you know?

Did you know? For your understanding. So, why did Noah curse his grandson, Canaan for the wrong (seeing him naked) of his son Ham? Well, he could not reverse the blessing God had already placed on his sons. Genesis 9:1, And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. Did you know?

Did you know? Dates meant something, Genesis 8:4, And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. At first glance, this date means nothing until you look at the date of the firstfruits, Leviticus 23:39, "Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. Firstfruits means to raise, Mt. Ararat was an extremely high, more than 16,000 feet upward, when Christ was raised from the grave, He became our firstfruit, I Corinthians 15:23, But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming." Coincidental? I think not, remember, with God there are no coincident. Did you know?

Did you know? It has been taught by many Noah taken all animals into the Ark two-by-two, but this isn’t true. It was required by God, that Noah take in all the unclean animals only 2 by 2, but for the clean animals he was to take in 7 by 7. Genesis 7:2-3, "Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male, and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male, and the female, to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth." Did you know?

Did you know? The story of Noah’s Ark is always interesting no matter how many times you read it. Noah only built one window in the ark, Gen 6:16. Noah collected the unclean animals 2 by 2 and all clean animals 7 by 7, Gen. 7:2. Why so many clean animals? Yes, for sacrificial offering purposes, that was one of the first things Noah did after the flood, Gen. 8:20, but after the flood, God allowed man to now eat meat/animals, Gen. 9:3. Noah sent the dove out 3X’s, it was only after the 2nd time did the dove bring back an olive leaf in its mouth, Gen. 8:8-12, he actually sent the dove out every 7 days. Did you know?

Did you know? It was the father of Noah, Lamech, who called his son’s name Noah, and said, `He will comfort us in our labor. Genesis 5:29, And he called his name Noah, saying, this same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the Lord hath cursed. Did you know?

Did you know? God had His reasons as to why He told Noah to take all clean animals in 7 by 7, Genesis 7:2, Every clean beast shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female; and of the beasts that are not clean by two, male and his female. (1) Sacrificial purposes. Genesis 8:20, And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And food, Genesis 9:3, Every moving thing that liveth shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. (2) Food, man would now be permitted to consume meat, clean beasts. Remember, men were originally vegetarians, Genesis 1:30, And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food. And it was so." Did you know?

Did you know? Noah was one of (5) children by his father Lamech, remember Lamech was the first man in the Bible to have two wives. Genesis 4:19-24, there was (1) Jabal, the father of such dwell in tents, (2) Jubal, father of all as handle the harp and pipe, (3) Tubalcain, an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron: and the sister of Tubalcain was (4) Naamah (sister)." (5) Noah, yes, Noah had a sister. Did you know?

Did you know? 100 years passed. From the time Noah started to build the Ark and was preparing for the flood. Genesis 5:32, And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And then later Genesis 7:6, And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth. Did you know?

    All About Abraham

Genesis 12:1, Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

Did you know? According to Genesis 17:10-14, 10th vs., This is My covenant which ye shall keep between Me and you and thy seed after thee: every male child among you shall be circumcised. (Lev. 12:1-3). The naming of the child frequently accompanied the act of circumcision on the same day. This practice was done even with Christ, Luke 2:21, And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb. And you wonder why the child between David and Bathsheba died on the 7th day? No covenant relationship was formed. II Samuel 12:18-19, this was according to God, a child of sin. Did you know?

Did you know? God made three different covenants with Abraham. The Abrahamic Covenant is an unconditional covenant. The actual covenant is found in Genesis 12:1–3. The ceremony recorded in Genesis 15 indicates the unconditional nature of the covenant. When a covenant was dependent upon both parties keeping commitments, then both parties would pass between the pieces of animals. In Genesis 15, God alone moves between the halves of the animals. Abraham was in a deep sleep. God’s solitary action indicates that the covenant is principally His promise. He binds Himself to the covenant. Did you know?

Did you know? There are two different type sof covenants made by God in the Bible. A covenant is an agreement between two parties. There are two basic types of covenants: conditional and unconditional. A conditional or bilateral covenant is an agreement that is binding on both parties for its fulfillment. Both parties agree to fulfill certain conditions. If either party fails to meet their responsibilities, the covenant is broken and neither party has to fulfill the expectations of the covenant. An unconditional or unilateral covenant is an agreement between two parties, but only one of the two parties must do something. Nothing is required of the other party. Did you know?

Did you know? The Lord told Abram to leave his father/kindred’s house/country, Genesis 12:1, Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: Now remember both his father and his older brother Haran, were both passed, Genesis 11:28, And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldeans. Terah dies later, Genesis 11:32, And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran. By leaving his immediate family, he was now totally dependent on God. Did you know?

Did you know? It was the daughters of Lot that made him drunk, then both daughters slept with him and became pregnant by him. By this, two (2) nations were created. The Ammonites and Moabites, they both were enemies of the children of Israel. Genesis19:35-38, ³⁵ And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.³⁶ Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. ³⁷ And the first born bare a son and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day. ³⁸ And the younger, she also bare a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon unto this day. Did you know?

Did you know? Abraham was the first and only person recorded in the Bible to receive tithes. Genesis 14:18-20, 20th vs And blessed be the most high God, who hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. Did you know?

Did you know? Abraham had eight (8) sons. One son by Hagar the handmaiden (Ishmael), the son of promise by Sarah (Isaac) and six (6) sons by his last wife Kenturah, after the death of Sarah. Their names were, (Gen. 25:2-3) "And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. ³ And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim." Did you know?
