About this ebook

The Last Days: Revealing the Greatest Secrets of the Bible is a complete guide providing a deeper understanding of the Bible, reaffirming that the ancient Scriptures are true and that there is Good News awaiting those who believe its timeless message, in spite of all the troubles that are coming upon our world.
The material contained in this book can be described as an advanced course in Biblical studies. It is a detailed investigation into Bible prophecy as well as many other important topics related to Jesus the Messiah and His teachings. Since the Bible contains such a vast amount of information, no single book can cover all that is contained within its pages. One scholar has suggested, as an example, that people have spent their entire lives studying just the first seven Hebrew words of Genesis Chapter 1! Although it represents an advanced level of scholarship, it should be easy to understand for anyone because of the detail presented and the cross referencing and so on. It generally builds upon itself so that we are growing along with the information presented – step by step – precept upon precept.
[Isa 28:9-10]
This book should serve as a profitable reference for all those who read it and study it carefully. May it serve to bring us hope, strength, and further understanding in these perilous times we are living in, and that it helps us to endure to the end, the coming times of great tribulation, just before Jesus returns – our blessed hope.
Everyone who endures to the end will be saved. [Matt 10:22]
And when you see these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads for your Redemption is drawing near. [Luke 21:28]

    LOVE

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not die, but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Those who believes in Him are not condemned but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God. [John 3:16-18]

Jesus said, You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. [see Deut 6:5] This is the first (chief) and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself [Lev 19:18]. On these two commandments hang the entire Law [Torah] and the Prophets. [Matt 22:37-40]

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. [1Cor 2:9, Isa 64:4]

Whoever knows My commandments and keeps [obeys] them are the ones who love Me. The ones who love Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and reveal Myself to him. [John 14:21]

This is My commandment, love one another as I have loved you. [John 15:12]

And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the Name of His only Son, Jesus the Messiah, and we should love one another just as He commanded us. [1John 3:23]

Jesus asked a third time, Simon son of John, do you love Me? Peter was deeply hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, Do you love Me? Lord, You know all things, he replied. You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, then Feed My sheep. [John 21:17]

If I have been given the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and have all knowledge, so that I have the kind of faith that can move mountains, but if I do not have love, I have nothing. [1Cor 13:2]

    INTRODUCTION

The Last Days: Revealing the Greatest Secrets of the Bible is a complete guide providing a deeper understanding of the Bible, reaffirming that the ancient Scriptures are true and that there is Good News awaiting those who believe its timeless message, in spite of all the troubles that are coming upon our world.

One Way Books, which is the name of our ministry, is the central driving force behind this book. It is, in a sense, what this book is all about – expressing the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth – where Jesus declared I AM The Way [John 14:6]. Recall, Pilate questioned Jesus:

Pilate asked Him, Are You a King then? Jesus answered, You say rightly that I am a King. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I came into the world, so that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice. Pilate asked Him, What is truth? [Jesus did not respond] And after he had questioned Him this way, he went out again to the Jewish crowd, and said to them, I find no fault in Him at all. [John 18:37-38]

Have I now become your enemy because I am telling you the truth? [Gal 4:16]

Great care has been made to ensure that all of the information presented in this book is an authoritative, accurate and valid explanation of what the Bible actually says – its true meaning, God’s messages and revelations to us, and a proper understanding of the written Word of God. Every attempt has been made to avoid personal opinions or speculation of any kind. The basic concept behind this book is to present as much of the Bible as possible in a way that anyone can understand it more clearly and accurately. Let’s face it, there are a whole lot of differing opinions and teachings out there, and sometimes more than one explanation can fit a particular topic in question, but most of the time, there can only be one correct way to interpret what we are reading in the Bible. And we all need help from time to time, when we are trying to find the right way of understanding things. This book should address and answer most of everyone’s questions, so that our faith is strengthened and we can also help others as well.

Prove all things, hold fast to what is good. [1Thess 5:21]

    [Isa 28:9-10]

There has been a vast explosion of information in our world, related to every aspect of life, and Biblical knowledge is also growing rapidly. Many Biblical truths, which have previously been hidden, missed, neglected or overlooked, are now being fully revealed and spread around the globe like never before. This rapid increase in Scriptural knowledge is, in itself, another proof that we are living in a time period the Bible calls…the Last Days. Many Jewish people are finally coming to a saving faith in Yeshua [Jesus] as their Messiah, though the vast majority still do not believe in Him.

But you, Daniel, close up the Words, and seal the Book until the time of the end, when many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. [Dan 12:4]

A Brief Overview of the Most Important Topics In the Bible

The following is a Top 7 list of Bible topics that everyone should become fully knowledgeable in, laying a solid foundation for our faith. These topics are central to the entire Bible and therefore, there must be a clear awareness, an accurate understanding of these topics, if we are to have a rock solid common faith in Jesus - a faith once delivered for all time to the saints. [Jude 1:3]

    1- the eternal Gospel Message

    2- the New Covenant

    3- the Great Commission

4- the commandments of God  (Note: this is included in items 1, 2 and 3 above, but a separate item is listed due to is importance)

5- End-Times Bible prophecy  (because we are literally nearing the very Last Days right now)

6- The Divine Messiah [God in the flesh]

7- Recognizing false doctrines, false teachings (and teachers), cults, and so on

This list is not meant to be complete, because the Bible is so vast and covers so many topics, but it is definitely a very good place to start - as foundational material. This book will address all of these topics. The Bible talks about the Church (or body of believers) being in one accord under One Leader.

Then I will set over them One Shepherd, My Servant David [Jesus the Messiah], and He will feed them; He will feed them Himself and be their Shepherd. And I, the LORD, will be their God, and My Servant David [Jesus the Messiah] will be Prince [King] among them; I the LORD have spoken. [Ezek 34:23-24]

Jesus told Peter: Upon this rock I will build My church [ekklesia, kehilat, assembly of believers], and the gates of Hell will not prevail against her. [Matt 16:18]

Notice first that Jesus calls His people (His followers) My church. So the people of God, God's elect, God's chosen people, are members of His church (where 'Church' means His followers, a community of believers, a congregation of followers - Jesus is not talking about Southern Baptists, or Lutherans, or anything like this). Peter was given the full revelation regarding Who Jesus really was - You are the Christ [the Messiah], the Son of the living God. [Matt 16:16] Thus, Jesus is saying that His church will be made up of followers (like Peter, his name meaning ‘a rock’), who confess their faith in the Messiah Jesus as their Lord and Savior - God [YHVH] who has come in the flesh to save mankind. This scene is not about setting-up Peter as a leader of the church - far from it - because the church has only One Leader - Jesus Himself - we are simply His servants. Jesus does not like it when people exalt themselves, rather, He wants us to humble ourselves before Him.

It is our hope and prayer that this book serves as a profitable reference for all those who read it and study it carefully.

    Chapter 1A

ARE WE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS?

How can we be certain that we are living in the Last Days and that the End of Days are soon approaching? How can we know for certain when Jesus the Messiah will return, coming in the clouds [Dan 7:13, Rev 1:7] to the Earth? Has God set dates for the future? Has God revealed these secrets to us in the Holy Bible? Does He expect or desire for His people to know about these future things, before they happen?

God’s Word indeed reveals the details of His Divine plan and timetable.

Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no One else; I am God, and there is no One like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that have not been done before. Saying, My plan will stand, and I will accomplish My every desire. Indeed I have spoken it. I will also bring it to pass. I have planned it. I will also do it. [Isa 46:9-11]

Surely the LORD [YHVH] will do nothing without first revealing His secret plans to His servants the prophets. [Amos 3:7]

    1 DAY = 1000 YEARS

A simple mathematical formula (1 day = 1000 years) is the foundational key required to unlock all of the prophecies pertaining to the Last Days. The apostle Peter left us with one important warning above all others in his second epistle.

Beloved, be not ignorant of this one fact, that one day to the Lord is like a thousand years [to us], and a thousand years are like one day. [2Peter 3:8]

Peter did not openly express himself on this matter. Rather, he chose to speak in a more cryptic way, probably because it was meant to be hidden only for the faithful followers who were constantly [diligently] searching for answers. These matters were guarded as secrets as best as they could hide them. Peter was drawing attention [hinting] at some very important prophetic passages from the Creation account and the Psalms.

For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, like a watch in the night. [Psa 90:4]

For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath Day and made it holy. [Ex 20:11]

Since a thousand years is like a day in God’s sight, many Biblical scholars of the past have linked the 6 days of Creation to a 6000-year prophetic timetable, culminating in a seventh-day Sabbath millennium. The seventh day would be the 1,000-year Sabbath millennium of the Messiah's rule. Here are some quotes from the past:

The world endures six thousand years; two thousand before the Torah, two thousand under the Torah, and two thousand under the Messiah. [Eliyahu 200 B.C. – Talmud; Sanhedrin 97a]

The world endures six thousand years and one thousand it shall be laid waste (that is, the enemies of God shall be destroyed), whereof it is said, 'The Lord alone shall be exalted in that day'. As out of seven years every seventh is a year of remission, so out of the seven thousand years of the world, the seventh millennium shall be the millennial years of remission, that God alone may be exalted in that day. [Ketina: a commentary on the Talmud]

And I appointed the eighth day also, that the eighth day should be the first created after My work, and that the first seven revolve in the form of the seven thousand, and that at the beginning of the eighth thousand there should be a time of not counting, endless, with neither years nor months nor weeks nor days nor hours. [Secrets of Enoch 33:1]

He speaks of the Sabbath at the beginning of the Creation, And God made in six days the works of His hands and on the seventh day He made an end, and He rested on the seventh day, and He sanctified it. Consider, my children what this signifies: that He made an end in six days. The meaning of it is this: that in six thousand years the Creator will bring all things to an End, for with Him one day is a thousand years. He Himself testifies, saying, Behold the day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years. Therefore children, in six days, that is in six thousand years, all things shall be accomplished. And He rested on the seventh day: He means this, that when His Son shall come He will destroy the season of the wicked one, and will judge the godless, and will change the sun and the moon and the stars, and then He will truly rest on the seventh day. [Epistle of Barnabas 15:3-5 (100 A.D.)]

    Barnabus also wrote:

As there had been 2,000 years from Adam to Abraham, and 2,000 from Abraham to Christ; so there will be 2,000 years for the Christian era and then would come the Millennium.

For in as many days as this world was made, in so many thousand years shall it be concluded…This is an account of the things formerly Created, as also it is a prophecy of what is to come. For the Day of the Lord is as a thousand years; and in six days created things were completed; it is evident therefore, that they will come to an end at the sixth thousand years. [Irenaeus 150 A.D. Against Heresies Book 5, 28, 3]

The first seven days in the Divine arrangement contain seven thousand years. [Cyprian 250 A.D. The Treatises Of Cyprian Chapter 11]

For in six days God made the heaven and Earth, and finished the whole world . . . and blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, so by a figure in the seventh month (Tishri) when the fruits of the Earth have been gathered in, we are commanded to keep the Feast to the Lord, which signifies that, when this world shall be terminated at the seven thousand years, when God shall have completed the world, He shall rejoice in us... Then, when the appointed times shall have been accomplished, and God shall have ceased to form this Creation, in the seventh month, the Great Resurrection Day, it is commanded that the Feast of Tabernacles shall be celebrated to the Lord.

[Methodius 300 A.D. Banquet Of The Ten Virgins, Discourse 9, Chapter 1]

I have already shown that when 6000 years shall be completed, this change must take place. But he (satan) also, when the thousand years of the Kingdom, that is, 7000 of the world, shall begin to be ended, will be loosed afresh, and being sent forth from prison, will go forth and assemble all the nations, which shall then be under the dominion of the Righteous, that they may make war against the Holy City.

[Lactantius 350 AD The Divine Institutes Book 7, Chapter 25]

The world was ordained to endure, as all learned men affirm, 6000 years. Now of that number, there be passed 5,552 years, so that there is no more left but 448 years. [Bishop Latimer 1552 A.D.]

    THE FOURTH DAY

The Hebrew scholars of the ancient past understood that the Messiah would appear on the fourth day of the prophetic Creation week (See the previous quote from Talmud: Sanhedrin 97). The arrival of the Messiah was expected in the period known as the fourth day after the Creation of Adam. How did these ancient scholars arrive at this timeline for the coming of the Messiah?

For behold, the day is coming, it burns as an oven, and all the proud, and all who work wickedness shall become like stubble. And that coming day shall set them ablaze [on fire], says the LORD of hosts, so that it shall leave them without root or branch. But for you who fear My Name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings [His fringes or, the hem of His garment; tzitzit in Hebrew]. [Mal 4:1-2] [see also Matt 14:36]

And in the written Word of prophecy we have something more secure [more certain] to which you do well to pay attention to, as to a lamp shining in a dimly-lit place, until the day dawns and the Day Star [the Sun, the Morning Star] rises in your hearts. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is ever intended to be of personal opinion [interpretation]. For no prophecy ever came by the will of man, but rather men of God spoke as they were being moved by the Holy Spirit. [2Pet 1:19-21]

I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches [congregations]. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star [the Sun]. [Rev 22:16]

For as the light of day [the Sun] (bright shining- Strong’s #796), which comes forth from the east and shines as far as to the west, so also shall the coming of the Son of Man be. [Matt 24:27]

The sun is the Day Star [2Pet 1:19] or Bright and Morning Star [Rev 2:28; 22:16]. Ancient scholars deduced from Malachi’s words that the Sun of Righteousness [Mal 4:2] was referring to the Messiah and hence to Genesis 1:14-19, where we find that the sun was fashioned on the fourth-day of Creation week:

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: He made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of heaven to give light upon the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the FOURTH DAY. [Gen 1:14-19 KJV]

The link between the coming of the Messiah on the fourth-day and the formation of the sun on the fourth-day was taught since antiquity. When Malachi wrote concerning the Sun of Righteousness, the hidden meaning in the text dealt with the arrival time of the Messiah...the fourth day.

The first 7 words in the Hebrew text of Genesis provide another hidden clue.

Bereishit b’rah Elohim et hashamayim v’et ha’eretz. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [Gen 1:1 KJV]

The 7 Hebrew words symbolically form a Menorah pattern (7 golden candlesticks), with the 4th word being et. The two letters of the word et (aleph and tav) represent the first and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Hebrew scholars have long seen the hidden Messianic reference here, because God identifies Himself as "the First
