Her Client's Transgressions - Jordan Bailey

    Chapter Five: Securing Release

By the time she arrived at Martin Rice's office, Rachel had calmed her nerves. Any interaction with the Assistant District Attorney was a slippery slope, and now she had his disgusting ‘offer’ hanging in the air.

Arriving early, she was led into his office where he sat smuggly, feet kicked up into his overly priced desk and a fake politician's smile on his face.

If it comes to that, I just might. But I’m sure a friend or family member will turn up. Rachel said, straightening her neck and sticking her nose up at the man.

Martin squirmed in his seat, cleared his throat, then sat up properly. Taking his time, he pulled a decanter from his desk and two tumblers, sat them on his desk, then began pouring.

Okay. I’ll give you what you want. But it’ll take some time. And you have to scratch my back.

He cocked another smile and a glance during his final
