An Orc's Prize - Jordan Bailey
Hence evil broods were born, Ogres, Goblins, Orcs and Giants also, who all fought with God, for which he gave them their reward.
- Beowulf
These are dangerous times, little girl,
the man gruffed with a hoarse, mocking chuckle.
Indeed, these were. Especially for Milo, who with his long auburn hair, flowing white dress and fitted black corset, had once again been mistaken for a girl. It was an ambush, a trap. And at first glance, it seemed as if a lone ‘girl’ had strayed too far away from home, gotten lost, and was now surrounded by a trio of grown men, each drunk and desperate and hungry. All three wore ragged clothes and tattered armor. They were bandits of some kind; dirty, smelly, and all armed with shoddy swords or knives.
This ain't no place for a city girl like you,
the second one added, his thick accent like the seafarers from the West. Shoulda stayed at home, Lass.
Yet still what neither of them knew was that despite ‘her’ pretty, feminine exterior, the slight and petite ‘girl’ that knelt trembling in the grass was no girl at all. Indeed, what all three of them had become so worked up over was a young boy, albeit one that possessed more feminine features than male. Truth be told, hardly anyone would have seen little Milo for what he really was, especially considering his attire.
I-I’m...
the boy meeked, his eyes darting to each of their lust-craved faces.
As the men approached, the boy took note of their weapons, then their growing bulges in each of their pants. Each of their trousers looked as if they’d burst at the seams. And as they grew closer, he could make out the distinct outline of hairy, oily genitals crammed within.
Milo used to like sneaking away from home at dusk. Through the busy streets out a secret pathway through the city walls. Outside he felt free, and he enjoyed watching the stars come out as night would fall. Then, when he knew his parents were asleep, he would sneak back home and crawl into bed, dreaming of one day embarking on his own adventures out into the world. But tonight, mere minutes after entering the woods, he suddenly found himself surrounded. It was one of the many things his mother warned him about, and the reason he was forbidden to go outside the enormous city walls. And now he knew why.
Help!
Milo cried out in a weak, shrill voice, one that the men could never have guessed belonged to a boy. Please! Someone!
Noisy little one, aintcha?
the third man, the fattest of the three mocked. He chuckled as he sheathed his knife and grabbed his crotch. Might haveta stuff that cute ‘lil mouth o' ‘urs...
No, please, I-
Milo began, but something cut the boy off. There was movement in the trees! Was it another bandit? One that he hadn’t seen before?
An all new fear took hold of Milo. Fear of the unknown. And in the dark, wooded clearing where the moonlight illuminated the silhouettes of his assailants, something else appeared. It was massive but fast, like some sort of hulking animal. It moved with
