Chapter 1

The phone lights up but I’m reluctant to answer it. Ignoring the ongoing beeps, I lean back in my cushy leather executive’s chair, fingers locked behind my head. This is the life I tell ya. With nothing more than a little change in attitude, I’ve found great success in almost everything in life. My sex life is booming, my career has taken off, and I don’t have to answer to anyone these days. Yep, this is as good as it gets.

Fine, fuck it! I say, smacking at the phone as the receiver falls to the side. I fumble around with it, dropping it more than once before finally getting a grip. Yeah, wha— I mean, hello. Rick Anderson speaking. I lean up close to the desk, rubbing one temple with my eyes closed. I nod my head in agreement as if the babbling man on the other line can actually see me. Uh huh, yeah. Look, if the stock dips below thirty-five I want you to— I swallow hard, sweat is dripping down from my temple. A tiny moan escapes my lips.

Wiping my forehead, I throw myself back against the chair. Y-yeah, I’m still here, I say, groaning quietly to myself. I’m trying to hurry up and finish this phone call, but my chest is tight and I’m suddenly short of breath. Um, yeah, if the stock dips below thirty-five I want you to pull the trigger. Okay? I sit up again, having trouble finding a position where I can concentrate. I throw my head down and begin panting against my forearm.

That’s right, pull that trigger baby. Just like that. I’m counting on you to— I start slapping my hand on top of the desk. What’s that? No, no, I’m fine. I just need...you to...oh yeah, just like that! Ohhhhhh fuck let me call you baaaack!

I slam down the receiver then fall back into my chair. Hands covering my face, my breath is slowly starting to return. Did you really have to keep going? I ask. You knew I was on the phone.

Scarlett rises up from underneath the desk, a sheepish grin on her tight-lipped face. She opens her mouth and flips her tongue a few times, the white creamy contents rolling around in her open mouth. She swallows the precious load and licks her soft lips. It’s more fun when you’re on a business call. It gets me so fucking hot.

I can’t help but laugh. I better call this guy back. For all he knows I just had a stroke!
