About this ebook

Poetry and lyrics saved my life. As a coping skill, I hope this book/album finds you and proves helpful. In it I rhyme about my life experiences and how they have affected me throughout. This ranges from philosophical views to some of the hardest struggles I have faced. If self-reflective, deep lyrics and poetry have ever helped you in times of crises, I believe mine can help you as much as writing them has helped me.

Rhymes from a Hive Mind - Alexander Holmes

    1

    Mark of the Poet

    Drift into a deeper thought,

Shifting views to see the plot,

Count the hallways left to enter,

Now is always and yet never,

    Moments passed are gone forever,

    Poems captured to remember,

    Flowing paths- neuron endeavors,

Growing as words drop red levers,

Holding back the clock hands' efforts,

    Showing pasts' forgotten letters,

Knowing that their bonds are severed,

    Because now is omnipresent,

    While somehow still nonexistent,

So let each verse clamp down a still frame,

Transcend emersed and bound by willed chains,

    To be captivation's prisoner,

    Nude imagination's visitor,

    Poetry always pauses to ponder,

Coating these hallways crossing to wander,

Sifting through like breeze in fog,

    Lifting muse like dreams unsought,

Because a poet's ink bleeds from the soul,

    Feel the potency seep unbeknownst,

Under the skin and into the bone,

Chilling the spine while warming the heart,

Filling with light while lurking in dark,

Drilling the mind while burning its mark.

    2

    Anti-antidote

As I awaken once again livid,

My mind forsaken haunts within vivid,

    Imagination crawls within ambitious,

A saturation of ideas too twisted,

    Atrocities depicting my vision,

    Monstrosities become rhymes written,

Behind my eye sockets they're gripping,

Loss of life skyrockets while slipping,

    Into my next daydream,

To where my conscience is absent,

So I can vent rage scenes,

    Repairing my cognitive advent.

    3

    Inspired by the Uninspired

    Fallen victim to this impression,

That there is no such thing as invention,

Lost all incentive to ponder or question,

    Or evolve.

    Incomplete are explanations,

    From our cells to stars
