About the Author
This is Megan Lynn’s first fiction novel and third published book. Her first book An Eye for Life Poetry invites you to explore her character through her many poems. Megan’s second book A Few of my Favorite Things Cookbook lets you learn who this author is and where she comes from while sharing her favorite foods. Now, Megan Lynn’s Worlds Worth takes you on the fictional journey of her cousin’s hard knock life through placement facilities. The author curated the book from actual events being shared from her little cousin Kwane’ Johnson. I made a list of things that happened to my cousin in her early life and turned it into a book!
The author shares every time when asked to describe her first novel. Worlds Worth will surely WOW its readers with suspense then comfort them with comic relief. Kwane’ Johnson thanks each and every reader for their time and purchase. While Megan Lynn ultimately hopes you enjoy her latest book Worlds Worth.
Chapter One
Home Sweet Home
I never had a fighting chance with Tonya as my mom. She didn’t really know who my father was and she couldn’t find herself past the crack to be a mom to me or my older brother Tymir. Well her mother wasn’t a mother to her either, my grandma Rhonda. I was raised by my great grandmother Ava. We lived on a big block in South West Philadelphia, where the neighbors knew more of your business than you. It was me, my aunt Neffie, Uncle George, my brother Tymir, my grandma Ava and my GrandPop Jacob. Being raised by your great grand parents leaves much freedom to imagination, freedom to exposure, and freedom to the wild. All I’m saying is she was not able to chase us around like a normal mother or father would. I loved my grandma Ava though, she was everything to me, and she did everything for me until she was too sickly to do so. My GrandPop Jacob wasn’t that bad either but he never really spoke to me. He mainly dealt with Tymir, when they felt like Tymir was out of hand. I still loved my Pop Pop dearly too. It was their selfish ass kids Neffie and George I grew to hate with their unloving behavior towards me. Not even towards Tymir, just me. Matter fact everybody treated Tymir better than me. In the family they had little nicknames for Tymir, like Ty Ty and Mir Mir. My aunt Lucky used to always call for Tymir, check in on him and give him money. When they could barely get my name right or used to just call me Lil Tonya. I hated that! I hated everyone saying I looked just like Tonya. My uncle George was always saying that shit to me too, you gone be just like your mom!
I used to wonder what does that even mean. I used to think nobody really liked me in that house. It was like they blamed me for my mother’s mistakes. Like Tonya already had one kid and bought it to great Grandma Ava. Then Tonya went and made another child, another mouth to feed, she really bought another child to clothe 18 months right behind the first child. I remember the rederick like it was yesterday. I felt like I never belonged to my own fucking family! I was there all because of my crack head mom. Of course nobody said it to my face that they didn’t want me around. The older I got and the more they sent me away, the more I felt like nobody wanted me around.
I felt it in my heart and bones how Neffie and George wanted their mother all to themselves. Hell I wanted my mother to myself too but where was my mother? Where was her mother? We all needed my grandma Ava and it was her responsibility to her legacy to take care of me and that’s what she did. My aunt Neffie was a nut and Uncle George was a freak. The two living with their mother well into their 40’s was perfectly normal right? Wrong, they needed to grow the fuck up and get the fuck out! I never got into their business to wonder why their lives were the way they were. Why they were at where they were in life had nothing to do with me. Why I chose to mention them in my story, well here’s why. My Uncle George and Aunt Neffie were somewhat responsible for my demise. My uncle George trained dogs, big ass dogs. Mastiffs and Cane Corsos, he would use his dogs to control me. He used to bring Goliath and Bella the two biggest dogs downstairs when I was arguing with Neffie. Plenty of times he made them bark at me and show me their teeth. That actually turned out to be a good thing later on living in the streets and even now I’m not afraid of dogs at all. Thinking back having that being done to me as a kid though, it really bothers me. I really thought they all hated me and they never did that type of shit to discipline or chastise Tymir. I got treated like that all the time too. They always said what Tymir did was in the streets, not in the house so I guess that was suppose to make a difference. Tymir was selling drugs and giving them money since the day I could catch on to remember and that’s what made the difference. I know my grandma was getting food stamps and medical for us through welfare. When it came to Tymir he got an extra check for a suspected learning disability which made him different than me. To them, it made him better than me, more valuable than me. He could contribute to the house with that check and they would take the whole thing from him if they wanted. As long as Tymir was getting to a dollar, they’ve been able to use him and his dollars. My grandma used to get Tymir whatever he wanted. He had a Blackberry phone, nice clothes, new Timberland boots, North face coats and everything! Me on the other hand it was whatever they bought. Whatever they quickly fished through in the plus size section. Whatever they felt like I deserved. Whatever they sent up to placement for me.
My Uncle George kept a husky porn collection, we’re talking about before VHS tapes, magazines galore, magazines full of whores galore. Let’s remember I am 12 years old discovering the glory and filth of pornographic magazines all at one time. My questions were endless with no one to ask sitting there looking and reading about sex and intimate body parts. Now Neffie was a whole different problem. One minute she wanted me to be the little maid of the house then the next minute she was calling herself trying to control me like she was my mom. Implementing rules my grandma would have never and I know because she was doing this shit behind my grandmother’s back. She knew how I felt about my mom too and she used that as a tool to control me too. Comparing me to my mom to make me tick, tick then BOOM I’m in an argument with this bitch. Taking my outside privileges away, making me read for hours to go outside, then when I would finally make it outside she’d quickly call me back in for some stupid chore. The reading made me smart but the constant labor with no reward as a child only made me hate this bitch. Neffie was so mean to me, I had to sneak to do everything. Sneak to go outside, sneak to eat the snacks I really liked, and sneak to watch TV at night which led to nights of infomercials I had no business watching. She was telling my grandmother every little bad thing I would do but for Pete’s sake I was just a child. I had every right to explore and do what I did. Like I said from the beginning the freedom and exposure was always too good to be true. With this restraint on life from Neffie and this sexual curiosity from my uncle’s magazines I was condemned.

Hello,
random male voice.
Hey my name is Kwane’ what you getting into tonight?
I was a virgin in real life but on the chat I was a 23 year old video vixen ready to be down for the pound. Reciting things I read in the magazines to keep up acts with these grown ass men on the phone with me. These men not knowing I hadn’t even hit puberty yet.
Listen Listen, then I told him to spread my ass and lick in between my butt cheeks.
I used to run and tell Peanut everything I was up to on the Lavalink.
Nae you crazy next time tell one of them niggas to imagine twirling his tongue up in ya ass too.
Peanut gave me her best worst advice and we would burst out laughing every time.
Peanut was my next door neighbor and she was my first best friend. We’d play Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen adventures from time to time when I was allowed. Peanut was a year older than me and way more experienced with shit. Her mom and pops were never home. She was always being watched by her brothers. Her brothers were always in the streets. She was always in the streets running around behind them. Ty used to have a crush on her. She didn’t want Ty though because according to her Ty was young and corny and probably didn’t know how to fuck.
When she would say things like that, I only used to ask myself, do I know how to fuck? Anyway her mom and Neffie used to beef heavy. I was never allowed to go next door and Peanut was never to step foot over here in my Grandma Ava’s house.
