DEDICATION
To my sister Wavis Washington, thanks for giving me the courage to take on the task of being a Foster Parent. Without your love and encouragement this story would have never been told.
Thanks to all the Department of Children and Family services all over this country. You are making an impact on thousands of children’s lives. Thanks to you many children like Tonya and Phyllis (known by other names) have caring, loving, and nurturing families and a place they can call home.
rJo (AKA Rosezina)

To my children, Da’Sharia, London and Lanai, may you always feel welcome at home.

CHAPTER ONE
25070.pngFirst Impression
Picture this: I am an average, 14-year-old Black/Hispanic/Jamaican American girl. I guess I could have just said I was multi ethnic but then you would not get the full picture or what a unique combination this is. I am quite unique, but most would call me just Black or African American because besides my long dark brown hair that is what I look like at first glance. I am tall, cute, slenderly built and I know I am all that and some more. I live in an average size town in a 3-family house where mom and I reside on the second floor. I have my cat and my dog. I have what I need to be an average American girl. Things like; a house phone in my bedroom, a cell phone on my hip, my television, a DVD player and my computer all in my bedroom that is large enough to accommodate me
