THE NAUGHTY GNOME GOES TO HOSPITAL
image0003Mr and Mrs Jones live at 99 Wally Street. They are very old and have lived in the same house for all of their married life, and over the years their one passion has been their front garden. Wally Street is the main walking route to the local primary school, and the old couple enjoy nothing more than to see the young children stop and look in their front garden at the array of brightly painted gnomes.
Some of the gnomes have garden tools, some have fishing rods, some just stand and smile, but they all have rosy red cheeks, red noses and big tummies. There are very big ones, medium sized ones, small ones and one very naughty gnome that stands only 3 inches tall. But these are no ordinary gnomes because a long time ago when deep in the cold winter when Mr Jones had taken all the gnomes into his shed for the winter, which he does to protect them against the cold weather, a magical event occurred.
It was on one of these chilly winter days when a very strange thing happened in the dark depths of the shed. Yes, there were mice, bugs and spiders, lots off spiders but there is this one spider that is as big as your hand and its web is as big as a football, this spider has 8 really long hairy legs, a big black round body and these tiny shiny evil looking black eyes. This spider has made a tunnel out of silk that leads too the back of his web, this is where he lives in a small round house that is also made out of silk. You may think the spiders always sleep in the cold of winter, but they are always on the alert, especially for an easy meal.
It is Christmas Day, when in this particular shed a particularly strange event took place. Everything was quiet when there came tiny shouts of HELP, HELP SOMEONE HELP ME
Caught by the wings in the big spiders webs is a tiny fairy, she has her wand and is casting spells to try and free herself, but the more she struggles the more tangled up she becomes, and what's more she can see that the big spider is waking up.
The big spider is stretching his long legs and getting ready to come out of his house and catch the fairy, he will then roll her in silk until she is ready to be eaten. She will have to wait then until he is really hungry, then he will eat her, wings and all.
Just as the spider begins to move, the fairy looks at the nearest gnome and sends a ray of stars towards him and says Come to life stone man, be strong and come and rescue me
The chosen gnome blinks his eyes, wrinkles his nose, gives a great big yawn and stretches his arms wide, he looks around and the fairy shouts,up here, stone man, quick, the spider is awake and heading this way, quick come and save me
the gnome stands on his stone
