Little Black Kitten - Hugo Dash

    Little Black Kitten

    Une petite histoire d'amour

    ––––––––

When he came home his cat was waiting for him.  Mr. Tom had entered the house quietly, but jumped when he saw the smiling creature sitting in the hallway.

    Hi, Panther

The large black cat let out an ear-splitting hiss, but it edged closer when it saw the bone. Tom had remembered to bring the leftover bone from his lamb shank. I’ve got somethin for ya!

Tom was a bachelor, a man of sophistication...and of many scratches. His scarred arms resembled the surface of Enceladus. In the past many people had advised him to get rid of the cat, but who were they, the cat was his only companion. Anyway, folks didn’t notice anymore because he wore long sleeves.

The sweltering pain in his arm kept him awake most of the night and he was grateful for the company of Panther, purring at his feet. In the early morning hours Tom manged to dose off, and had a nightmare about lions. Dreaming, he moved
