Praises, Prayers, and Promises

About this ebook
Following years of abuse then being left alone after my mother left my dad and then my dad moving away I decided to write poems to fill the emptiness and to write my feelings down even though I began writing a few poems when I was fifteen.
Just like most young wishful girls I knew I had a talent for writing poems. I was informed by a school teacher that I should try to get my poems published. Later I found that I got bored with it then friends, school, work, dances got in the way. I put my poems on hold for a long time. Then I had children and that started me to want to write again. But I still was not all that serious about it. Then after quite a few years I surrendered my life to Jesus even though I was saved when I was twelve. It was at this time that the poems came flowing; the Lord gave me these words.
I have since had poems published in Our Twentieth Century’s Greatest Poems…Creation is, Famous Poets of the Heartland...The Lord is My Shepherd, International Who’s Who in Poetry…The Forest, Stars in Our Hearts…We’re Walking Among Angels, Best Poets and Poems of 2012…Flame of Love. I have also published my first book Remembering When in 2012 as well.
I hope this poem collection will be blessings to you they will bring you comfort and cheer. Let them fill your heart with hope and gladness.
Use them when you are reading your Bible to help give you hope along the way. They are for every occasion and events from birthdays to Christmas. From weddings to funerals or whatever the occasion may be. I pray they will carry you through your days whatever they may be.

Praises, Prayers, and Promises - Jenny Miller
Prayer
I thank you, God, for your gift so true,
God in Heaven hears me pray as I go about my day.
That each person be blessed and guided by you,
And feel uplifted the whole day through.
Please help those in need or who walk alone.
I pray these poems will make them feel at home.
Within the hearts of their family and friends,
Are they close or making amends?
Please, Lord: bless all those who read,
Give them a gift and help those in need.
Thank you, Lord, for all those who hear and see,
Your love is in action in the words we read.
I thank my God for making mention of thee always in my prayers
Philemon 1:4 (KJV)
I have always found it easy to pray for anything. It does not matter what time of day or what I am doing, and I know the Lord can hear me, and he always answers my prayers. My prayers have carried me through some of my roughest times and have made all the special occasions more memorable.
A Babe
He came as a babe in the middle of the night.
In a time when the world was full of hate and strife,
Ears fell upon the call of this child.
Which came to heal the sick and the lame.
The stars are shown brightly in the heavens above.
The word of His coming and God’s great love.
Came to the many who would believe,
This babe would someday lead.
Those out of bondage from sin and shame.
The wise men, the gifts of love for this child, came.
He then carried a cross that our life would not end.
Ears heard of this extraordinary deed.
For our sins, He did bleed.
He is a beacon and our light.
John 3:16 (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
It is effortless to say the prayer when you take Jesus as your Savior. It is not a lot of work, just a simple prayer, and you will be saved and go to Heaven someday.
A Song
The Lord put a song in your heart; it is a song to sing.
It will give you a lift and give you a ring.
For others who hear and sing along,
The Lord will help make you strong.
A song to sing is a beautiful thing.
It can make you cry; it can make you dance.
Just think of what it can do by chance.
Sing a song and sing it well,
The Lord makes it easy as ringing a bell.
It is a song; it is a story that is to tell.
It will put a spring in your step,
It is a poem; it is a thought.
It can be a feeling that sends you reeling.
The Lord put a song in the heart; it is a song to sing.
That kept you smiling and keep you feeling.
A song in the heart is a song from God indeed,
He will give you a lift when you are in need.
God put a song in your heart for all to see.
He put it your heart and soul where it needs to be.
The Lord put a song in your heart; it is a song to sing.
It puts a spring in your step and gives you a ring.
I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
Psalms 9:2 (KJV)
I sing in our church choir, and I come from a family that played music
