The contents of this book having its classical base will explore many secrets of
Naadi. It is an integrated overview (not a system) having independent
approaches explained for both Naadi and Classical methods. It opens up new
horizons in application. This book contains a few Varga secrets which are
basically Naadi approach with classical structure.
Every component is explained independently without any efforts to fuse two
systems to confuse or claim discovery of a new system. This is an effort to
explore the information useful for both Naadi and Traditional approach.
The Book is divided into 7 Chapters.
Rasijam: Use of minute components both of space and quality are explained.
Grahajam: How the default approach is common for both Traditional and Naadi is
discussed here with planetary significations and their relationship with human
psychology is explored. Rasi Grahajam: Explains the use of minute components
and its influences on Planets. Bhavajam: The collective signification of planets
compartmentalized in 12 Bhavas and the methods of analysis as Bhava including
special use of Varga in Nadi is explained. Yogajam: Planetary yoga and their
effect on timing of events and their use in transit of planets in Naadi is discussed.
Samayajam: A brief introduction to Dasha system is explained which will be
helpful to determine the effects of planets during certain period and match the
same with Nadi transits.
We are sure that this Book will serve as a toolkit on both Classical and Naadi
lovers.

नवग्रहा गति्तेंषाम्‌ स्थानस्तथा सहावसम्‌ ।

ए ते शास्तरेश्रिताः वक्तुम्‌ भूत भव्य भवद्भवम्‌ ॥ ३ ॥

Vakratunḍaṁ mahākāyaṁ sūryakōṭi samaprabham ।

nirvighnaṁ kurumēdēva sarvakāryēṣu sarvadā ॥ 1 ॥

Tapōbhirbhūta bhavyaśca vartamāna vivēcanām ।

Navagrahā gatirtēṣām sthānastathā sahāvasam ।

ētē śāstrēśrtā vaktum bhūta bhavya bhavadbhavam॥ 3 ॥

Vedanga Jyotisha, a few earlier thought was that it is from Aryan. Rakshasa Jyotisha is from non - Aryan. Yavana Jyotisha is from foreign. In fact the very fundamental theory of Aryan and Dravidian has been collapsed by recent research facts.

The structured plan of division and distractions has been destroyed which was a deliberate attempt by foreign elements with vested interest. The grand program of reinventing facts of history, has fortified the unified glory of the Vedanga Jyotisha.

Vedanga Jyotisha the name itself connote that the Jyotisha is the limb of Veda. There is only one Jyotisha Shastra that consists of three main structures that is Siddhanta, Hora and Samhita dealing with Computations, Delineations, and Determinations,

We, if understand the structured approach in the available classical texts can find a perfect mathematical adaptation to blueprint an orbital providence.

This is an excellent fusion of human psyche to resonate in coherence with cosmic rhythm. The credit of art of decoding the vibrations of psyche with galactic pulse through a divinely refined language is accredited to seers of far distant past. This undisruptive monumental wisdom is Jyotisha.

Jyotisha has its branches with different approaches and principles named after the Rishis. The structure is same in all methods of Classical Astrology except the approach. One such extended method is Naadi invoked by great Rishis.

To make the writings eloquent, Acharyas, Scholars and Pundits have later produced many books some have translated into other languages too. The origin of written Jyotisha can only be traced through Sanskrit. Brihath Parasara Hora Shastra, Jaimini Sutras, Yavana Jataka are basic classical Astrology scripts available. Other works are extensions to these by many Acharyas and Pundits. The deeper analytical to Classical astrology is termed as Naadi that is an extended methodology with in the frame work of Classical astrology mentioned above.

Chandra Kala Naadi: Many scholarly articles were produced by legends on this system. Deva Keralam the book in three volumes translated by none other than great author Late Sri. R. Santhanam highlighting 150 Naadi Amshas which relates to Shodasha Varga of Parasara is available in print. This contains many Naadi principles later imported by modern authors in some of their writings. This is also called Chandra Kala Naadi and contains the rare concepts of interpreting through Amshas.

Thanks to Legend Sri C. S. Patel for all his books on Navamsha and Naadi through which the master has introduced different techniques from various texts. The information about Naadi was well discussed by him in his works. He has to his credit to establish the usage of Navamsha, Rashi disposition, Ashtamsha, Nidhanamsha, Pushkara, Rasi Tulya and Navamsha Tulya, Transit in Navamsha, Cycles of Planets which were not found in classical texts. (We, in this work, are using Rashi Tulya Amsha and we are also using Ashtamsha)

Professor B. V. Raman had seen many Naadi Granthas, like Guru Naadi, Shukra Naadi, Nandi Naadi, Dhruva Naadi and many more. According to him many of them contain excellent predictive methods based on classical approach.

Except the information provided by Late Sri C .S. Patel, we do not have any authenticated works or translations of Naadi works. We have seen the Dhruva Naadi of Satyacharya, the translated version by Sri. S. K. Raman. This has a wonderful methodology of Pancha siddhantika. The same is explained in our Book Roots of Naadi Astrology. We understand that another Dhruva Naadi by Jaya muni having 40 volumes is in Madras Library,

Reference of Mantra Naadi and the experiences of Late Sri B .V. Raman and many other Naadi references give us information about various Naadi but not the methodology.

The Palm leaf Naadi is another method of reading through selected palm leaf by an impression of thumb. This has, for and against arguments. Nevertheless, this cannot have a methodology for learning as it is an inherited art of reading palm leaves.

Brighu Naadi –Pending translation and publication due to demise of Late Sri R. Santhanam this work remained unavailable.

Brighu Nandi Naadi –It is a translation work of Brighu Naadi and Nandi Naadi combined (mostly by charts and a few principles combined), by none other than Late Sri R.G. Rao of Bangalore both in English and Kannada.

The Book Brighu Nandi Naadi and other works on combination of planets and transit of planets by Late Sri R.G. Rao have become famous as prevailing Naadi system. This system is based on Karakatwa and combination of Planets and timing by transit.

Despite a few fanatic views by many self - claimed Naadi exponents blaming the above system and hypothetically claiming better versions of Naadi in their vernacular languages, the Brighu Nandi Naadi with missing links, is off - course an excellent version of Naadi astrology that has roots in many works like Parasara, Jaimini, and later works like Brihath Jataka, Deva Keralam etc.

There is much more to Naadi when a comprehensive study is made taking all the classical works in to consideration. The Naadi principles are embedded in all the classical works. They need to be identified or learnt through able guru to understand them elaborately. There is no necessity to have distinctive nomenclature for a partial application in Naadi and discard valuable Naadi classical dictums that are explicitly introduced in almost all Classical works of Astrology.

The present book is an effort to give a vision of hidden Naadi components in classical astrology in general and Brihath Parasara Hora Sastra in particular. Equally use the karaktva & transit principles of Naadi in conventional method.

Collective providential contra indications by sages during their sessions at the behest of lord Shiva and Parvathi, despite counter inputs emerged as fine tuning of principles that are found in many classical Jyotisha Granthas authored severally by Rishis. The Naadi roots therefore, must be traced in classical Jyotisha Granthas.

Every computation found in classical texts, which logically, intellectually and universally acceptable cannot be wrong. If any alternative calculation or dictum is found, without prejudice, it can be complementary but not contradictory.

Respecting sentiments of every scholar, teacher, student and reader, we would like to highlight the point that Jyotisha is a comprehensive study and not a compartmental disintegrated approach. Despite being masters it is far from reach for many of us, as these were written by rishis for the well - read scholars.

Claiming to be an expert in any other Naadi system which is not structurally available, or claiming greater accuracy or perfection in any one system and condemn or ignoring other methods, shows the gross ignorance of the person in the subject Jyotisha.

Let us integrate with right research work and establish the lost vista that may lead to roots of Jyotisha in general and Naadi in particular.

This book does not discourage or discount any methodology of prediction either through Naadi or otherwise. This book does not support any negative views about either Naadi or Classical Jyotisha.

We have divided the book in 7 chapters.

Chapter 1. Rasijam –A Naadi Perception.

Viewing the entire solar system through Sun’s path with geocentric perception is the wisdom of our great Rishis to introduce Rashi chakra.

The zodiac then has qualities, elements and significations. It also has the spaces allotted to planets to indicate their conditions in certain zones of a sign. Every planet gets influenced by these sign significations and qualities when posited in particular zone. The modifications a planet undergoes here is of a most important factor.

The Rashi chakra in fact represents inactive energies of cumulative Virtue and Vicious (Punya and Papa) represented by Rahu and Ketu

The derivation of the name Rashi is synonymous to the logic of origin of word Hora. Ra from Rahu and Shi from Shikhi (Ketu) make it Rashi (Refer to shloka in this chapter).

The signs are again allotted strengths and qualities for static sign divisions as houses. The focus is laid upon the चतुर्विध पुरुषार्थ caturvidha puruṣārthāPurushartha means material aspects of native on the earth. The cardinal signs (Kendra) represent the caturvidha puruṣārthāi.e. Dharma, Artha, Kama & Moksha. Each of it has a trine that makes 12 signs of 4 Purushartha. The lead Kendra in each group has full energy.

Each lead house acquires some strength by the nature of signs it falls for different ascendant. The signs are Human, Animal, Water and Insect. Purushartha Lagna, Karma, Sukha and Kama falls respectively they gain full strength. These sign strengths were further extended to Purushartha trines by a logical computation. This gives basic strength of 12 houses. The other components like Tatwa, Movements, and Planetary dignities in the signs are all considered for sign delineation of each Lagna to give overall picture of a native by Rasijam with a Naadi perception.

Chapter 2. Grahajam - The Naadi through pulsation

The Pansychism (everything has a psyche) is a definitive suggestion that implies emotions are general. This plan is between universe cognizant and human mind. Eventually it can be understood that emotions are general.

Sir Roger Penrose introduced a key segment of Pansychism with his speculation that perception is set up in the quantifiable norms of quantum material science as they apply in the tiny spaces between neurons in the cerebrum.

Our place and nature of our existence in the universe is reflected by the origin of consciousness. Consciousness is a product of complex computations among brain neurons. Another metaphysical view is that consciousness ever existed. Both the views were upheld by current scientists as they claim that consciousness is a product of quantum vibrations in microtubules, protein polymers inside brain neurons that controls neuronal and synaptic functions and connect brain process to self –organizing process in the fine scale Proto consciousness quantum Structure of reality.

This is clear what transpires in the brain transforms into space and whatever tiny shifts in space will alter the brain waves of spices on earth especially noticeable in human.

This approach of progressive science ultimately shrinking the material thought and broadening the view of Upanishads

Fusion of Material and Metaphysical science is the basis for our work on relating planets to human feelings. From here we have progressed to identify the chemical cause of feelings of nine types which is documented in Indian classic arts as Navarasa.

Brain cells generate vibrations through mutual communication, via neurotransmitters, made up of building blocks of proteins. These vibrations cause feelings.

Since we have related these feelings to planets, the neurotransmitters causing those feelings are identified with the Major Karakatwa of planets. The significations of all nine planets are getting generated in the brain due to chemical reactions causing vibrations through neurotransmitters.

This experiment proves the Sanskrit saying

यथा पिण्डे तथा ब्रह्माण्डे।

yathā piṇḍē tathā brahmāṇḍē |

According to Karma Siddhanta What you sow so you reap(Karma Siddhanta is much more than this single statement). Every feeling is a vibration that causes action either before or after. Based on the nature of action, different feelings are emoted in self or with other living or non - living entities that transforms into vibrations. These vibrations are identified through planets representing the feelings.

For individualizing the feelings of 9 planets, motion of planets their paths and the zodiac paths are formulated.

Planets independently do not act on earth. They are indicating our Karma effects and are impartially triggering the respective cells where these memories of past actions are stored.

The significations of planets are not based on myth and are based on great science covering all matters by conscious and the psyche of humans.

This chapter deals with Karakatwa of Planets. It is an important part of Classical Jyotisha to understand the fusion of feelings by combination. The same in Classical astrology found as Graha Yogas in great works like Brihath Jataka etc., The Grahajam is an elaborated, integrated and qualitative delineations. This portion is an extended format called "Naadi pulsation" .

Chapter 3. Rashi Grahajam –Naadi Fusion - Static and dynamic energies

One is the static space entity another is dynamic planetary energy. The combination of these two will emerge as different feelings through represented by planet by its dignity in space. This is being elaborately explained with each Planet in each sign covering all the 12 zodiac sign by 9 planets. This classical synthesis can give a glimpse of Naadi roots.

Chapter 4. Bhavajam: -

Part A. Naadi Vargajam –Purushartha Pradhana Jeevana Marga.

We were graced by almighty to get hold of rare Naadi sutra to find out Purushartha Pradhana Jeevana Marga in short that is to know the purpose of life through Karana Deha and Karana Jeeva. The same is explained in this section of Chapter 4

Part B. Bhava Analysis - With karaka and Suchaka Bhava

Every Dynamic planet imprints its qualities on the static house and acquires sign qualities and gets designated positively or negatively. The dignities differ to each reference points for individualised delineations. This is the highlight of Classical Jyotisha that has the Naadi roots through karaka planet supported by resources houses analysis.

The macro vision reading a matter in the Bhava has simple microscopic analysis through Vargajam used only as confirmation from Karma and Bhagya. In fact Vargajam in depth should be the Naadi roots in Bhavajam. The Vargajam is definitely an elaborate subject needing exclusive expert treatment especially in the Naadi point of view. To enhance the clarity in reading the Naadi methodology is also introduced apart from using simple Vargajam. We are not contesting on the methodology of using Divisional chart, every view has its own credentials and we have ours.

Note: The lengthy analysis of 1st house Personality is the highlight of Naadi sutras.

Chapter 5. Bhava Grahajam - a Missing Naadi reading.

The planet exerts its Dynamic energy on a space of its transit. (Position of the planets in a chart is nothing but the transiting planets forced cut off situation for an epoch) It also gets the space dignities to modify its qualities of significations. The space effect needs to be studied as Bhava effect when a Planet is posited in the Bhava. This of course is totally missing in Naadi readings. The further modifications that emerge out of different micro scoping tools to determine the exact positional mannerism of a planet is a different aspect that would emerge in Vargajam. But basic reading gives an overall picture Bhava through a planet. This is a logical interpretation not from text books. With this information, further analysis can be done by Vargajam through different positions of planets for a required purpose.

Chapter 6. Yogajam: A guide to transit results in Naadi

Normally the Transit of Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu are considered in the present ad - hoc system of Naadi. However unless a trend is understood the actual behaviour of planet cannot be known. In order to understand, the trend within the available procedure i.e. Vimshottari Dasha system, we need to understand the ruling planets nature. The Brihath Parasara Hora Shastra has Yoga karaka Adhyaya which describes the qualitative nature of planets based on its functional dignities for each ascendant. There are many versions of interpretations to this chapter based on Jataka Chandrika and Bhavartha Ratnakara. This aspect is dealt exclusively by different authors in South India and North India. In this chapter we are discussing the different views on this with our logical comments. We are not covering the yogs which are available in many books.

In this chapter we are discussing the different views from the great scholars of Andhra Pradesh logically analysing them for better understanding of yoga karakas. These are useful to understand the nature of planets during their periods. This will greatly help in Naadi roots, for timing event in transit of planets to understand their qualities and mood during particular time frame.

Chapter 7. Samayajam

Infact, this important portion of astrology needs careful treatment synchronising Transit, Ashtakavarga and Dasha. It also needs inclusion of other Dasha System.

We are giving a simple short method as introduction to Samayajam reserving the huge subject be our next project.

Rasijam – A Naadi Perception

लोके सर्वत्र राहुश्च केतुश्च नामानि विदुः ।

केतोरन्यापि नामास्ति शिखीत्यपि तदाऽनयोः ॥ १ ॥

प्रथमाक्षर योगेन राशि नाम प्रयुज्यते ।

राहुकेत्वोश्च संर्कात्ततद्भुतम्‌ परापरम्‌ ॥ २ ॥

राशि चक्र समानंतु कश्चिदन्यः नवर्तते ।

मानव जीवितग्रंथम्‌ तत्पाप पुण्यसंयुतम्‌ ॥ ३ ॥

Lōkēsarvatra rāhuśca kētuśca nāmāni viduḥ ।

Kētoranyāpi nāmāsti śikhītyapi tadānayōḥ ॥ 1 ॥

Prathamākṣara yōgēna rāśi nāma prayujyatē ।

Rāhukētvōśca saṁparkāttatadbhutaṁparāparam ॥ 2 ॥

Rāśi cakra samānaṁtu kaścidanyaḥnavartatē ।

Vedic Astrology in its predictive section emphasises the signification of planets and qualitative influence on space division due to their orbital wisdom. The subtle qualities of signs are the roots of Naadi system of delineating a particular raising sign.

Astrologically interchanged position of Earth and Sun, the zodiac construction in fact nothing but the juxtaposition of planetary orbits visualised in the path of Sun around the earth. Moon being the part of Earth and the interchanged position of Sun caused no bifurcation of paths.

Other five orbits half visible and half invisible become 10 zodiac signs and with Sun and Moon path it is 12 signs. Thus the seven planets rule their paths as lords of their zodiac paths. Many stars visible in the path of the Sun i.e. zodiac and the division of it is made by counting and virtually grouped in the path to mark some shapes to name the each part of the division as a sign.

Signs unequally originate due to elliptical zodiac and therefore, the signs will have to be uniquely attributed to persons born on different places computing in relation to Sun.

Geocentric perception supports the virtual orbiting of entire solar system around the earth this makes even the virtual signs to go round the earth.

This causes for rise and setting of signs. In order to begin a sign which is called Lagna, the horizon at east is taken as fixed place and the zodiac sign rising in that direction (due to daily rotation of earth on its axis).

The orbital revolution (the orbiting of earth around the Sun) is approximately one month in a sign and completes 12 Signs in 12 months.

Therefore, any given month the sign where Sun posited will be the first sign to rise along with Sun. This sign referred to as Lagna (a point of reference to commence the counting of signs) remains there for approximately 2 hours. The first principle of Naadi is that the rising sign of an individual. It is this sign which shows the progressive journey of the Jeeva that has taken birth on this earth.

(Note: Of - course there is a mathematical formula to arrive at the Ascendant that is Lagna for every place according to Longitude and latitude)

After two hours the next sign at the eastern horizon will be next Lagna. From Lagna other 11 Signs are sequentially considered. Some school of thought considers this equal sign division itself as Bhava (Houses) and uses it for predictive purposes. Which is logically fits in to many classical texts. We vouch this argument and we shall, for this exclusive presentation of this work use this equal sign division.

These signs have certain traits as sign qualities in general based on the symbols, elements, and different classifications. These 12 signs are identified with certain traits and their qualities and the same is tabled below:

TRAITS OF SIGNS

Dharma trine consisting of Lagna, Punya, Bhagya. In this Lagna is the most important factor as it is the birth that has taken place to achieve the Purushartha. Purushartha are Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.

These trines gain strength by their lead houses. Dharma lead by Lagna i.e. 1st House, the birth the creation, 10th house relates to Artha, the status, Money and values. Kama 7th house desires, social life and sexual life. 4th is the Moksha. (How comfort zones, assets and mind becomes moksha? The Mind needs all the temporary comforts and ultimately it leaves everything while exit from the world. The mind if renounces the comforts while being in active life is Moksha Marga.)

Each of these Purushartha gain strength when placed in certain symbols represented by zodiac signs. There is a great psychology and spiritual aspects to these symbols that are allotted to signs.

A logical strength computation is made to each house for all the 12 Ascendants (Lagna), Based on the authenticated text Jataka Chandrika.

The man is a thinking living being. He has the evolved brain. Human alone can think and participate in creation or destruction. Rest of the living being simply follow the rules and does not think of beyond existence. Thus human signs when falls as Lagna gets full strength.

The Animals are active in the night and they have the killer instinct and are energetic to hunt their prey. This is the strength of performance and to maintain their living status. The same sort of lion strength is essential for a man to perform tasks. Thus 10th gets full strength when it falls in animals signs.

The feelings, emotions, pleasures and comforts are flowing and are not permanent nature. Thus water signs are chosen to be strong for 4th house.

The desires unless there is cooperation and unification cannot be fulfilled including lust and sex life. The last two essentials may reduce the mind to low level thinking and reduce the energy to lowest level. That is why the Insect sign is given strength to 7th house of desires and sex.

The strengths of Kendra houses for material benefits are given above. We have adopted a method to distribute the strength to all the 12 houses, based on the above conditions and the distance it travelled from the house in question. This will give the material strength of other houses relatively to Kendra houses.

Basing on these credentials the strengths are as follows:

1.If Lagna falls in Human signs it gets 100% strength.

2.If 4th House falls in Water signs it gets 100% strength.

3.If 7th House falls in Insect sign it gets 100% strength.

4.If 10th House falls in Animal sign it gets 100% strength.

Judgement of strengths

Aries gets 50% strength as Lagna.

Aries is an animal sign it gets 100% if it gets 10th house.

10th is 3 sign behind from Lagna, therefore Aries as Lagna has strength of 50%

(Each sign is around 16.666% (since 7th sign will be 0%) 3 signs is approx. 50% less.)

The next sign Taurus is also animal sign this should be 10th and it is 4 sign away from it thus 67% gets reduced and the 2nd house gets 33%.

3rd sign is Human sign it should be Lagna to get 100% and Lagna is 2 signs behind from it. Therefore 3rd gets 67%.

4th sign should be water sign to get 100% for this no computation needed.

5th Sign from Lagna is animal sign it should be 10th sign and the 10th sign is 5 sign ahead therefore 5th gets only 17%.

The next sign 6th is a human sign should be Lagna which is 5 sign behind and gets 17%. For 6th house

Tula is 7th human sign should be Lagna being 7th from Lagna it gets 0 - %.

Scorpio is a Keeta sign and Strong if 7th Sign from Lagna and it is 8th Sign from Lagna one sign ahead of 7th sign thus gets 83%.

First 15 degrees of half of Sagittarius being Human and 2nd half is Animal. First half should be Lagna but Lagna is 4 sign away from it leaving 33% strength as 9th house. 2nd half should be 10th sign which is next to it thus it gets 83% strength for 9th house.

Capricorn 1st half is animal 2nd half is water. First half should be 4th from Lagna but it is in 7th sign therefore 0% while 2nd half should be 10th and it is 10th house for Aries Lagna. Hence it gets strength of 100%.

Aquarius a human sign should be Lagna which is 2 signs away from Lagna and thus it gets 67% as 11th house.

Pisces is water sign should be 4th and 4th is 4 signs away from it giving only 33% strength to 12th House.
