A Brumby's Best Friend

About this ebook
Cecil is a well-read and world-traveled bird of nearly flightless origin. After a daring escape from Egypt on the back of a camel, an ocean crossing in the belly of a whale, and a short stint on the back of a condor, he finds himself in Terra Austris.
He quickly seeks out the most intellectual beings of the new land and ends up the friend of the native horses and egrets. Friends he finds lacking his tact and ambition, but they will do, for now.
While it pays to live on the hind end of the largest horse in town, Cecil can't help but wonder if there is a better life for him waiting in the wings. What, with friends who dine on the dung of your Brumby, you can't blame him for thinking that things smell a little off.
Reading can be risky business. It's obvious when you consider that those who read nearly all wear glasses. It must be bad for the eyes.
This Twit will take his chances-
He thinks you should, too!

A Brumby's Best Friend - Jay Horne
Dedicated to
Sadhguru
a truly legendary storyteller
Introduction
This was written when Jay was traveling and watching heart monitors in a hospital for income. During weekends, when he gets to see his children, he is reminded of his own childhood and his late father. His father was one tough Brumby.
This short story reminds us that riding on someone else’s shoulders won’t keep you on top forever, and while lying to ourselves and others may make us look successful, it will never truly last.
Perhaps, when we are genuine and surrounded by like minds will we ever really shine in our own ignorance.
Part One
Mooooooooove!
Oh, that.
Don’t mind Harry.
That’s just his way of saying, Coming through!
Though, you’d think the snapping branches and scattering mammals would be a sure sign to the other Brumbys to make room for us down at the watering hole.
Harry can be a little excessive.
It’s nice to be the friend of the largest Horse in the community.
