Piggy in the middle

It’s hard to recall midsummer from the depths of January or February. It seems impossible that the daylight should ever persist long after 10pm, but these brief weeks of sunshine often make the entire year worthwhile. It has become a habit of mine to head out with the rifle before bed, even if it’s only for an hour or so to unwind during a very busy time of year for work. It’s usually just an opportunity to sit and watch for a while, but I do have eyes on the occasional roebuck for the freezer.
