    INT. TELEVISION STUDIO – DAY

REPORTER (35) sits opposite ADAM (19).  Adam is comfortably dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with sneakers.  Everything about him appears ordinary, except that he is nervously drumming his fingers and one knee twitches.

    REPORTER

I’m here with Adam Scott, kidnap victim and newly discovered author.  Hello, and welcome to the show.

    ADAM

    Thanks.

    REPORTER

It must be difficult for you to talk about what happened.

    ADAM

It gets easier.  Everytime I tell the story, it gets a little easier.

    REPORTER

And how many years ago was it now?

    ADAM

I escaped three years ago today.

    REPORTER

Three years.  Can you tell us, how you escaped?

    ADAM

    I shot him.

    REPORTER

And yet, they never found the body.

    ADAM

That’s a lie.  There was a body.  I saw it.

    REPORTER

But when you were able to lead the police back-

    ADAM

    There was a body!

    REPORTER

I’m sorry.  This must all be quite traumatic for you.

    ADAM

    Yes.

    REPORTER

Your parents were killed, is that right?

    ADAM

Yes.  He killed my parents.  I thought I was dead for sure, but he tied me up and put me in the car

    .

    REPORTER

And what made you interested in writing the screenplay of your abduction?

    ADAM

It’s not just about the abduction.  I witnessed at least three dozen murders in the five years I was held captive.

    REPORTER

And you lead the police to the grave sites, correct.

    ADAM

When we were able to find his killing ground, yes.

    REPORTER

    What was that like?

    ADAM

    It was terrifying.

    REPORTER

    So why write the screenplay?

    ADAM

To exorcise the demons.  To come to terms with what happened.  To give myself some peace of mind.

    REPORTER

It must have been a heartbreaking project.

    ADAM

    It was.

    REPORTER

When can we expect to see it in the theaters?

    ADAM

Well, I don’t know if I’m ready to share it yet.  Just writing it was a struggle.

    INT. DINER – NIGHT

Adam sits alone in a booth.  He pours ketchup onto his eggs.

RACHEL (20) sits down opposite him.  Rachel is beautiful, wearing revealing clothing.

    RACHEL

    I read it.

Adam looks down at his eggs, not eating.

    RACHEL

Want to know what I think?

    Adam nods.

    RACHEL

I think it could work.  But you’d really have to push the envelope, get out of your comfort zone.

    ADAM

    Would you be in it?

    RACHEL

I would play the lead.  Sarah.  But you’d have to make some changes.

    Adam pushes his eggs away.

    ADAM

    Like what?

    RACHEL

I want to take it to the real location.

    ADAM

    No way.

    RACHEL

It’s a gut-wrenching piece.  You have to own up to it.

    ADAM

    I’m never going back there.

    RACHEL

He’s gone.  You’re safe.  But you have to put yourself back where it happened.  It’s the only way to do justice to the film.

    Adam sighs.

    ADAM

    You really think it’s good?

    RACHEL

It’s going to change our lives.  Are you going to finish that?

    Adam shakes his head.

    RACHEL

    Ketchup, on eggs?

    ADAM

That’s the way he liked them.

    RACHEL

    Then why’d you do it?

    Adam shrugs.

    RACHEL

Come on.  I know a guy who could get this done.  I worked on a project with him before.

Rachel grabs the script and stands up.

Adam reaches in his pocket for his wallet.

    EXT. BAR – NIGHT

A car pulls up to the bar.

    Rachel exits the car.

    INT. CAR – NIGHT

Inside the car, Adam watches as Rachel approaches the bar.

    EXT. BAR – NIGHT

SEAN (25) stands outside the bar, talking on a cell phone.  Sean is fashionably dressed, strong and masculine.

Rachel approaches Sean, smiling.  She says something, with no audio.

    Sean and Rachel kiss.

Rachel leads Sean over to the car.

    Sean sticks
