    Introduction

Grammars can prescribe, describe, or analyze the historical evolutions of the language

    After all, what is grammar?

Grammar's main function is to regulate language and establish patterns of writing and speaking for speakers of a language. Thanks to Grammar, the language can be analyzed and preserved, presenting units and structures that allow the good use of the Portuguese language.

Good grammar must be able to extrapolate the reductionist view that makes language a set of rules prescribed by scholars of the linguistic system and must be able not only to describe the language, but also preserve it and, above all, be useful to the speakers.

    ––––––––

1-  Normative Grammar Called normative grammar or prescriptive the grammar that seeks to dictate or prescribe the grammatical rules of a language, placing their prescriptions as the only correct embodiment of the tongue and categorizing other possible ways wrong. Normative grammar is often based on the dialects used by the most prestigious speakers in a linguistic community.

The main aspects of normative grammar are phonology, morphology, and syntax.

Phonology: a study of phonemes, letters, and points of articulation. It is the branch of linguistics that studies the sound system of a language, from the point of view of its function in the system of linguistic communication.
