    Preface

Ruach Warrior and the Holy Spirit Awakening is the first book of the Ruach Warrior Adventure Book series.

A young girl’s true Arctic adventure!

This story is the background of how Heidi VanDamme searches her soul spiritually and becomes Ruach Warrior, determined to fight the evil spirits in the dark spiritual realm. If you didn’t believe there is a kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness, you will, after you read how Heidi is transformed from the kingdom of darkness (Satan’s world) into the kingdom of light and love with Jesus!

The author wanted to demonstrate that Jesus will provide help right away if we accept it. In reality, Stacey Walker did not start going to Bible study until she was thirty-six years old and she was living in Arizona. She learned many wonderful values in Prescott, Arizona, from her very good Christian friends, the Wares. In these stories, the author wanted to show the power of prayers throughout your day. Her stories are packed with adventure, but the spiritual experiences are all very real. The prayers are real, and the adventures are from her living in the Arctic wilderness! The author feels that when a person is feeling intense pain or loneliness and one reaches out for help, there will be a help, depending on who your god is that you are praying to.

Those things that we cannot see are the things that live in the spiritual realm. In the Hebrew translation Bible, Ephesians 6:12: For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.¹

It is so important to continually pray to Jesus because He helped me, Stacey Walker, receive healing, money, and favor in many areas. Doors are still opening to help me fulfill God’s plan because Jesus works through us and lives in us.

There is some graphic content in these stories, and they should be monitored by an adult before letting young children read them.

    Bless you,

    Stacey Walker

Ruach Warrior and the Holy Spirit Awakening. Book 1 of the Ruach Warrior Adventure Book series. Heidi VanDamme is at a crossroads in her life in her mid-twenties as she struggles with anxiety, hopelessness, and fear from her abusive childhood flashbacks that continually haunt her. She always believed in Jesus, but she had no training in how to pray or what to pray. If she is ever going to be anything, the Christian woman that she dreams of becoming, she will have to leave everything behind that she had ever known. Ultimately, Heidi will travel 5,000 miles to the rugged Canadian Arctic, where she hopes to search her spirituality in order to find some peace.

She expected subzero temperatures in the Arctic, but she didn’t expect romance. Nevertheless, when Heidi met Jeff Affleck, a very handsome RCMP officer, her golden-green eyes locked onto his stunning blue eyes, and there would be no escaping their destiny for true love! Jeff liked the serenity of the north, and with his loyal husky, Yukon, he was not lonely. However, he had difficulty meeting the right woman. Several near-death encounters forced Heidi VanDamme to search beyond herself, to have faith, and to rely on Jesus for all of her needs! At the same time, fearless predators began stalking the town of Whitehorse and were killing humans! Will Heidi VanDamme survive the harsh north, or will she run away as she had always done in the past? What could Heidi do because she didn’t know how to love since she did not have anyone to teach her how to nurture? Little did she know that Jesus had a plan to bloom her heart, as well as Jeff’s! As soon as Ruach Warrior is awakened within Heidi, she fights off the demons in the supernatural realm to keep her safe.

This story is a story of hope, joy, and forgiveness, and that love usually happens when we least expect it. If you didn’t believe in the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light and love on planet earth before, you will, after you read this book. This is the first book of the Ruach Warrior Adventure Book series!

In today’s digital age, most people have a cell phone and can access the internet daily. I believe that very soon, all of God’s (Jesus’s) people will have the opportunity to either say yes to the kingdom of light (Jesus) or yes and stay in the kingdom of darkness (Satan’s world). Information can be googled in an instant. If I have learned anything throughout my experiences with the light and the dark, it would be that Jesus always gives us a choice because we have been given Free Will. That means that we will need to make choices. What choices have you made? Life is about the choice after choice after choice. We can choose to act and think differently if we want to. The Bible offers so many encouraging verses like Healing Bible Verses, Worry and Anxiety Bible Verses, Bible Verses for Overcoming Grief, Comforting Bible Verses, Protection Bible Verses, God’s Promises Verses in the Bible, Bible Verses for Faith in Hard Times, Encouraging Bible Verses, Hope Bible Verses, Friendship Bible Verses, Forgiveness Bible Verses, Strength Bible Verses, Love Bible Verses, and Inspirational Bible Verses.

My vision is to publish my book series with the hopes to bring as many people as possible into the kingdom of the light with Jesus! If you have read this far, then you have the ears to hear, and the spiritual eyes of your Holy Spirit want to awaken! Just read these stories, and like the Bible stories, they can be applied to your life and will help you to move out of the kingdom of darkness to become a more solid, grounded Jesus believer! My prayers are that all people will choose wisely. Jesus wants us to pray aloud and speak, use sign language, or just move! Thoughts are things that Jesus hears!

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ (Romans 10:17).

That is why it is so important to speak, sing, and read the Bible. Your spiritual ears will turn towards Jesus when you learn the Bible! The Bible will bring your spirit and soul inner peace and joy!

Book#1: Ruach Warrior and the Holy Spirit Awakening.

Bless you, and let’s pray together to stop the curses on the earth.

I have been disabled and was supernaturally healed. I lost everything and became homeless. It seemed like the evil darkness was working through so many people who were coming against me. Nevertheless, I plunged into college in my fifties after I recovered from my wheelchair. I had no idea what God’s plans were for my life. I also believed that because I had honored my mother and my father by taking care of them, even though they were not good role models to me, were the reasons why God healed me. I received His blessings from the Bible because whoever honors their mother and father will receive God’s promise of a long life on planet earth! Jesus healed me, and now, I would like to share my healing testimonies with you! I pray that many people will be overcomers of the kingdom of darkness, in Jesus’s name! Amen, amen.

    Jesus-believer Stacey Walker

Author: Stacey Walker January 15, 2021

I finally completed editing my first book after three laptops got a virus from out of nowhere, and I became homeless in 2017. I know that Jesus wants me to publish my stories because I have been in college, and I learned how to write and use the internet. Before I became homeless in 2017, I could only send an e-mail and did not have any computer training. I have been praying for Jesus to provide the abilities for me and to help me circulate my stories so that they can help many people overcome the kingdom of darkness. I am no one special, just a woman who has a testimony. Everyone has a testimony, but the question is, what will you choose to do after you have a spiritual experience? Since the spiritual realm is invisible to us, humans, Jesus can only show us His kingdom of love and light when He helps us and guides us to awaken our inner Holy Spirit person. That is usually when we suffer physical and emotional suffering. The spiritual realm is invisible, but when you experience it, you sense some type of energy or force is there.

[...] because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world (1 John 4:4b).

One thing is for sure that when you are in Jesus’s kingdom, there will be many, many dark forces coming against you. Nevertheless, Jesus has given us the Bible with many scriptures and prayers to overcome the evil, invisible spiritual principalities, and you must pray to protect yourself. Once you believe in Jesus, you must pray daily and constantly and come against the evil spirits by rebuking them and asking Jesus for help. They even tried to erase my manuscript several times, but I continually prayed to Jesus. I asked Jesus to remove the evil spirits from my space and make them flee away from me! I only ask for the spirits of light and love to surround me in the name of Jesus. You can too! There is power in prayer, and we need to pray, and we get to pray. Yes, many bad things have happened to me, but I have inner peace, and I know that when I die, my spirit of light will still live, and I will be singing and worshipping with Jesus in the heavenlies of light and love!

Unfortunately, if you are still in the kingdom of darkness, then when you die, your spirit will suffer in pain and agony forever with Satan and his fallen angels.

    Chapter 1

    Destination—Whitehorse

    January 5, 1990

Mush, mush. Go. Codan, go! Heidi ordered as she drove her Siberian husky dogsled team across the vast, white, snow-laden tundra of the Canadian Arctic—Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. Heidi was enjoying the beautiful mountains covered with blankets of white, fluffy snow. Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a very large gray animal appeared and began running beside her lead dog, Codan! Heidi’s pulse began beating rapidly as her hands trembled. She could no longer grip the reigns because of the intense feelings of fear that filled up inside of her.

Heidi pulled back, hard on the reins, and yelled, Whooh, team, stop! Codan, stop!

Immediately fluffy, cottony snow skidded wildly past Heidi’s face while the wooden skis turned onto their blades along the edges, and she stopped. She quickly lifted up her black snow goggles and looked straight into its wild yellow eyes! Heidi thought to herself that she had wanted adventure... now she was living it! Her head was whirling in a daze of unbelief. She was weak at her knees, and they crumpled beneath her. Thud! She slowly blinked her eyes, and she felt like a deer looking into the headlights of a car that was about to get hit!

In a split second, the animal turned around and pounced onto Heidi! She screamed, trying to reach for her knife, but she was pinned. She continued to scream as she pushed her hand along her right leg down into her white snow boot so that she could grip her jackknife that was strapped around her calf. Heidi screamed, Codan! At the same time, growling snarls and yelps filled the air as the huge animal bit into her left shoulder. Screaming in agony, Heidi looked out of the side of one of her eyes, watching Codan showing his teeth in full view as he growled louder than the other animal! She held the knife strategically between her and its eyes—the only thing preventing it from moving in closer. Codan tried to jump at the animal to attack but the reins attached to the dog team held him back! Heidi needed his help, so she let go of her grip on the wild animal just long enough to cut Codan from the reins. Instantly, the wild animal latched quickly onto Heidi’s midsection, where she had placed her first aid pack. To its surprise, the gray had bit into her metal container and only tore Heidi’s olive green parka, not her skin.

Forcefully, Codan pounced onto the wild, gray animal! Finally, it released its grip on her and focused its attention on her Codan. Heidi just lay there in shock as fresh blood trickled from her left shoulder. She was weak and getting colder by the second. She turned her head to view the dog fight and faintly heard the barks and yelps. Her Codan was a mighty match for the massive evil-looking gray animal as it slanted its yellow eyes, circled, and then pounced near-death grips at her Codan’s neck! Her dog maneuvered quickly and strategically. The dogfight continued, and Heidi was scared to death! She wanted the dog team to stop and thought the wolf would run off, not attack them! She was so scared that the wolf would have jumped onto Codan since it was chasing him!

The next moment could not have come too soon. Heidi heard a bang! She looked to her left and saw her friends, Bob Meisner and his girls, Laura and Vanessa. They had driven in on their dogsled, and Bob stopped a few feet away so they would not alert the wild animal. The stunned gray wolf flopped to the ground. Thud! Without hesitation, Bob immediately called the vet on his cell phone to have the clinic ready. Both Heidi and Codan were injured! Instantly, he and his girls ran to check on Heidi as she was lying there in the snow while blood continued to trickle from her left shoulder.

    It Was an Emergency!

Laura and Vanessa helped their father, Bob, wrap Heidi and Codan with navy wool blankets. They carefully placed them onto the sled and tucked in their blankets to keep out the light wind. Heidi was fading in and out from her blood loss as she reflected on her new friendship with the Meisners. They went to church together and ate dinners together since she had first met them. She struggled with many facts about Jesus that were preached to her since she was a little child and had memorized some of the names of the books of the Bible in her Roman Catholic church. Now, her new friends, Bob and Christy, introduced her to the Tanakh—the Old Testament. Her childhood church (Roman Catholic) did not even tell her to read the Old Testament, and they said the Old Testament was passed away and not to bother to read any of it. Heidi asked Christy if she read the New Testament, and she told her no. The Jewish believers rejected Jesus as God in human flesh and only believed in the Old Testament or Tanakh. Yet, Christy and her family loved God! Heidi signed out some books on Judaism from the local library because she had to know why they thought this way. She studied that the orthodox Jews do not believe in Jesus (Yeshua), but they thought that He was a mighty prophet and not a deity, meaning God in human flesh. She was confused, but one thing she knew for sure: the Almighty (God) Jesus was real and was always the same in the Old Testament (Tanakh) and in the New Testament.

The Yukon was a place of self-discovery, and Heidi needed to find out who she was and who Jesus was? The most important mental attitude was to have a positive attitude. To find a way out of danger, it was of utmost importance to overcome mindless panic and to use common sense. Heidi was a farm girl, and her family were atheists. However, her parents did teach her something, and that was to use her common sense.

Back to reality. Heidi snapped out of her flashback to wake up in this godforsaken, icy Arctic!

She realized that back home, she was safe and did not have wild animals attacking her. Heidi wanted to help her best friend, Codan. My gosh! My Codan! You’re bleeding, buddy. Please help him, please! murmured Heidi.

Vanessa stroked Codan and smiled and said, Yes, Heidi, we are here for you. Everything will be okay. Just rest. We are on our way to see the veterinarian!

Heidi stroked Codan’s soft head gently as he whimpered quietly beside her with short, intermittent gasps of air. He was such a gorgeous Siberian-Akita dog mix with stunning electric blue eyes and four white paws with gray/black and white colors throughout his soft coat. Both of the girls prayed for Codan and for Heidi aloud. Heidi had never had anyone pray like that for her. In her experience, the Catholic priest only said prayers at the podium in front of the congregation. She never prayed, nor did any of her family pray. Heidi realized that she had never really prayed, except for The Lord’s Prayer, and that was only at church services on holidays. These prayers greatly touched Heidi’s heart. Meanwhile, Laura drove Heidi’s sled very carefully and was slower than her father, Bob, was. Bob kept looking back periodically to keep an eye on the sled so that he would not gain too much distance. Vanessa sat securely holding onto Codan.

Heidi said, Codan, you’re my hero! I am only still alive because of you, buddy!

Heidi watched Bob lead them confidently back to Whitehorse. The sled dogs exploded with energy and were trailblazing through the sticky, white snow as they sensed the urgency of the situation as much as Bob, his girls, and Heidi did. Heidi should not have gone sledding alone today. I should have packed up my dogs when Susan went to the emergency room, she thought to herself. Why was she so stubborn, thinking that she was bulletproof? She needed to talk to Jeff, but a heavy haziness caused her to close her droopy eyes. Heidi was so grateful that she had met her new friends, Bob, Christy, and their girls. She also knew that if it wasn’t for Bob, she could have possibly bled to death out there, all alone.

    -

Thirty Below. By now, half the sky was filled with cumulus clouds, and a dim orange-yellow sunset had crept in. The temperature continued to drop as they headed southwest, rounding the point to Whitehorse. Heidi’s rosy cheeks and nose were numb and stung with the thick, cold chill as she raised her beaver fur mitt to protect her blotchy face. The team’s excitement had come too soon as they yelped and barked. They could not hold their gallop while Bob pulled up on his emergency brake and yelled, Whoah, team! Balls of clumpy snow flung from side to side as Bob’s team came to a roaring stop. It was so beautiful to watch the sled dogs work together because they knew where they needed to run and slow down so that none of them would get tangled in the reigns of the sled.

Laura steered carefully, and she pulled back on her brown leather reins gently to trigger the Stop! command. She bit her bottom chapped lip nervously since she had only driven her father’s sled two other times. The dog team dropped back into a trot just as Heidi lowered her mitten. The breath of the lead dogs flowed through the air like a cloud of white smoke covering the team and lined the sled with frost. The sun edged closer to the horizon with just enough sunlight to make it back to Whitehorse. They were finally home, and Heidi sighed deeply as the team taxied in. Laura pulled back on the reins to slow down and yelled, Whoah! Team, whoah!

Heidi helped her by interjecting with a Slow down, team... (very faintly). Let’s stop here. Atta, boys and girls. Good job.

Immediately, Heidi gulped the cold, dry air. She coughed, not realizing just how weak she was.

She insisted that Laura help her out of the sled so she could help her Codan. All of their boots squeaked on the frozen, packed snow as they lifted Heidi and Codan towards the veterinarian’s office. Bob and Vanessa carried Codan in to see John, the town veterinarian and rabbi. They prayed that John would save Codan because they knew Codan would continue to risk his dog’s life to save his master, Heidi.

Heidi was in the land of the midnight sun, and this was her only hope to break out of her toxic, dysfunctional, drug-addicted, alcoholic, and unsupportive, atheist family. Suddenly, she felt a dimness overcome her as she drifted into another one of her flashbacks. Slowly, she lost her ability to stand. Laura rushed to catch Heidi and placed her into one of the chairs in the vet’s waiting area.

Meanwhile, Heidi was dreaming and remembered that her perverted uncle wanted her to have sex with him, and she said, "No! You are my Uncle! Ugggghhhh! And yuck!" Heidi thought about the rumors that her uncles had raped her cousins and sister! She continued to struggle with her shaky emotions as her restless mind wandered from the present to the past. Heidi asked herself, How did I escape it? She was in agony emotionally and physically because certain triggers would inflict painful memories from her past. Somehow, she had to come to grips with it. The vet asked her if she wanted to call her family back home. Her heart began to skip beats and began beating faster and faster as her hands perspired, and she began to feel very fidgety and nervous... Heidi knew that her mother would only yell at her for moving to the wilderness, and there would be no support. Only I told you so and for her to promptly return home. They would tell her she was stupid.

Heidi inhaled a deep, long breath and shook her head back and forth as she declined and said, No, I do not have anyone to call. I am on my own up here. My family back home never wanted me to leave, so they would only oppress me and scold me, said Heidi as a hollow, deep pit developed in her stomach. She winced and stared out into the distance as her hands continued to shake with nervous tension. John examined Codan, took some x-rays, and gave him a sedative. Then, he stitched up Codan, wrapped his wounds, and said he would call her tomorrow. He wanted to keep Codan for a few more days to monitor him to make sure he would be all right.

Whatever he needs, I will cover it. He is my best friend, whimpered Heidi as huge tears rolled out of her eyes and trickled down both of her cheeks. She barely cried and usually held everything inside, but this dog of hers loved her, and she loved him right back. It was the first time she had felt love. Heidi did not receive love from her mother since her mother was very controlling and verbally abusive. Her father was nice, but both parents worked very hard on the family farm. Heidi only felt like it was all about the work. No one talked about loving one another or being kind to each other. Her father drank and would beat her mother on a daily basis. This was Heidi’s time to search herself spiritually. She needed to find the true meaning of life and what real families do to help each other.

At that moment, Bob and his girls escorted Heidi to the emergency, pronto! She was so stubborn that she forgot that she had wounds and that caring for her dog was more important than herself.

Heidi was a victim of mental trauma, and she was emotionally scarred. Will she ever move forward and find peace from her traumatic childhood memories? At this point in time, she was the product of forced birth control and was working in the world over, seeking satisfaction in a marriage. Heidi was so brainwashed to choose a career first; otherwise, she would not be happy in life. This was what the worldly teachers would tell her in high school. She had many chances at romance, but she continued to stumble in her low self-esteem. She was confused and thought that all men would eventually be abusive. She wondered to herself if she would ever meet a man who would love her and not abuse her physically, verbally, or mentally.

Nevertheless, up in the Arctic, everyone became friends, according to Bob, Christy, and his two beautiful girls. Up here in the Arctic, your life was at risk, either by the freezing temperatures or the dangerous animals or the risks living in the rugged wilderness!² Heidi watched the weather channel on a daily basis as she listened to the weather warnings in Whitehorse. Other people told her to never hike alone and always tell someone whenever she did go out alone, especially because she lived by herself. She had so much to be responsible for that it seemed to take her mind off her past. The doctor stitched up her left shoulder and prescribed her two weeks of rest and relaxation so she could heal. Heidi did not know what it was like to rest because her mother always had something for her to do, work. However, now she was an adult, and she could finally search for her own happiness. These next two weeks could give her more quiet time to think about her upbringing and her past. She wanted to learn how to deal with it and how to accept it and how to finally move forward.

    -

    Spring 1989, May

Eighty-five above. One spring afternoon, Heidi was sitting by the beach in Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada. She inhaled fish odors, juicy burgers, and fries with malt vinegar. She thought to herself her life was so stale. Heidi was a happy-go-lucky spirit who worked as a dental assistant all week and spent her weekends at the beach or bars all year round. However, Heidi did not know the meaning of real love, only drunk love. Heidi thought to herself, I need adventure! After five years of stumbling aimlessly through life, Heidi was twenty-four years old, and this was the moment that would change her life forever, spiritually and mentally, for the better.

For five years, Heidi had dreamed of working in isolation with Eskimos (or Innuits) and riding a dogsled. Heidi was a small-town farm girl from Vienna, Ontario, Canada, who was athletic and enjoyed the wilderness. Every year she would ski, snowmobile, hike, camp, orienteer, and canoe in the wilderness club and at her church camp. She participated in wilderness activities from the time she was in elementary school. Some of the best times in Heidi’s life were when she engaged in activities with the Girl Scouts and her summer Bible camping trips. Deep down in her being, she craved rugged, outdoor adventures! A five foot four, she was fit, athletic, and tough. A tomboy at heart!

Heidi’s inspiration came from a therapeutic dental therapist who was from her hometown. Her name was Leslie. She wore lavish furs and had expensive cars, a Cadillac. She owned a lot of real estate. Heidi asked her what she did for a living since everyone else in her little town did not have much. Leslie worked in northern Manitoba. She canoed to work in the summer and snowmobiled in the winter. She told Heidi that she earned good money by receiving a salary as well as isolation pay, and she worked with the native Indians and Inuits. Heidi learned that there were jobs in isolation and a person could canoe and snowmobile and have fun while going to work! Heidi wanted to do the same thing. She dreamed to be something, and she wanted her life to make a difference. She wanted to be a dental hygienist. She had yellow-green, stained teeth, with most of her teeth filled with silver and white fillings showing chunky white spots on her front six incisors. She had always wanted to have a beautiful smile, and she wanted to travel the world! She was poor and fatherless! She thought, how could she ever fulfill that dream? Her father ended up abandoning her family and marrying another woman who was sixteen years younger than him, and he cared for her two children.
