About this ebook

This self help book will encourage, empower, and arm us with the necessary tools to receive the things of God. Mark 11:24 says, "When we pray believing by faith, whatever we ask for will be given to us." Thus the promise becomes prophecy, and we as believers look for the manifestation. Don't just pray, but expect God to perform His word every time!

    Dedication

    For the best mother ever,

    Evangelist Cleo O.  McClenton.

Thank you for introducing me to holiness,

and what it means to live by faith.

I feel so honored to be standing on your shoulders today.

I will always love and miss you.

    (October 21, 1931 – June 15, 2000)

For my husband, and love of my life,

    Pastor J.E.  Lewis, II.

Thank you for your unconditional love and support.

As Missionary Shelia Ann Moore (a faithful member of the local church) always say,

I am globally led and locally fed, by you! I often say

there is no one else I could’ve married that would have

propelled me in ministry like you.  I share the great

strides in Kingdom work with you!

To my biological children, thank you for sharing me these

many years to the work of the Lord.  Your love and support

means so much to me.  Blessings upon all of your lives.

And for all my amazing readers!

Thank you for reading my first book publication.

I pray God’s choicest blessings upon your life!

    Foreword

Who is Patricia Lewis?  Teacher, proclaimer, psalmist, and now author.  Yes!  But to me, she is the same little girl I saw singing in the choir and serving on the junior usher board at Pentecostal Temple in the ’60s.  She came from a small apartment behind the church where she lived with her sainted mother, Evangelist Missionary Cleo Riley (McClenton) and family. I admired Evangelist Riley so much so for her exemplary life and great anointing, that I thought if I looked hard enough, I might see wings attached to her.  I watched as she instilled into her eldest child (Patricia) a godly lifestyle.  I watched Patricia grow and develop in holiness by leaps and bounds, and knew God had a calling on her life as she survived through extreme tests and trials.

When I observe her now, I see all the levels in which the Lord has elevated her.  She is Supervisor of Women to one of the largest countries in the world, Brazil.  Yet her spirit remains sweet and down to earth.  Whether singing, ministering in the word, praying or prophesying, I see my daughter, Pat, as a valuable vessel of God.

This book will challenge, encourage, and display God’s great deliverance through the Spirit of Expectancy.  I believe you will not be the same as faith engulfs your life when reading his powerful word from the throne of Heaven.  Pray, believing that God will!

Blessings to every person that supports the ministry of Mother Patricia Riley Lewis.

This publication titled The Spirit of Expectancy is a timely inspiration birthed in the spirit of Dr.  Patricia R.  Lewis.  The Spirit of expectancy is not a reference to the Holy Spirit, but the human spirit.  The human spirit, even among the saints, God’s peculiar people, is under attack by frustration, despair, discouragement, and hopelessness.  The attack seems to be of such as never before to the extent that many of the saints, including pastors are flinging themselves out of life’s back door.  They are literally committing self-murder, suicide (an act I believe is unforgivable).

Dr.  Lewis’ personally testimonies, as well as the biblical examples she presents, hopefully, will serve as a catalyst of which the Holy Spirit will use to give a renewed life to the
