Focus on God and Workbook - Tommy Wreemongar George

    Focus on God

    The Meaning

Wordweb defined focus as the act of concentration or energy on something, or as a special emphasis attached to something. This is actually what God demands of us—full concentration. The call to focus on God needs to be reemphasize in today’s world. There are too many distractions all around. This distraction is not even coming from the world as much as from the church herself. Many would have made heaven, peradventure, were it not for their so-called anointed men of God.

The attention of many has been shifted to their pastors. Instead of looking to Jesus, they are looking unto men. No wonder many are disappointed and frustrated today. It is normal. The Bible predicted that those who put their trust in men will be put to shame. God is the only being who does not fail. We are in the last days. False prophets are on the rise; it will take believers who focus on God to escape their deceptive caprices and whims. Jesus said,

And many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. At that time if anyone says to you, look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is! do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time." (Matthew 24:11–13, 23–25, NIV)

Beloved, seeing this is coming to pass in our days, our soul’s center of attention should be on God. This is only appropriate for us because Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith. He is the only one who deserves our focus. To better understand what it means to focus on God, I will be considering the subject under various subheadings. Stay with me as we go through this
