    How Do I Pray?

Prayer Focus - Our Love Walk To Be Strengthened

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.(1 John 4:20, NIV)

There is no right or wrong way to pray when your heart is pure! God desires to have a relationship with you filled with open communication between the two of you!

If you desire to have more structure to your prayers, here are some helpful tips.

1.Acknowledge that you know who God is (i.e., God, You are Mighty. God, You are powerful. God, the Creator of all things).

2.Give thanks to God for all that He is and what He has done (i.e., God, I thank You for Your grace and mercy. I thank You for Your Son, Jesus).

3.Ask for the desires of your heart (make sure that your desires are in line with His desires for you).

4.Thank Him in advance for honoring your prayers because you have prayed God’s will for your life.

The more you pray, the more confident you will become in talking to YOUR Father!

Let us, therefore, come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.(Hebrews 4:16, NKJV)

    Watch Your Mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prayer Focus - That Our Words Will Align With God’s Words

Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!(1 Peter 4:7-11, MSG)

•The words we speak on earth today will be judged by God in heaven.

•Our very words hold the formidable power of life and death.

•Because of the power our words possess, we need to submit even our speech to God.

•Through submission, we can experience victory through the very words we speak.

The Bible tells us our tongues have great power and influence over our lives. What we say directly impacts how our day will go. What we say can gain us new friends and get people to help us, or it can create enemies and start arguments. Once we say something, it’s out there. We’ve said it. We can’t take it back. So we as Christians had better be careful about what we say, keeping some things in check, lest we sin against God by wounding or causing problems with our words. The Bible has much to say about speaking and how we speak to others. Let’s take a look at some of these ideas.

"Don’t be in any rush to become a teacher, my friends. Teaching is highly responsible work. Teachers are held to the strictest standards. And none of us is perfectly qualified. We get it wrong nearly every time we open our mouths. If you could find someone whose speech was perfectly true, you’d have a perfect person, in perfect control of life. A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. A small rudder on a huge ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets a course in the face of the strongest winds. A word out of your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it! It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire. A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech, we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell. This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth! My friends, this can’t go on. A spring doesn’t gush fresh water one day and brackish the next, does it? Apple trees don’t bear strawberries, do
