Shavon Sellers

Pastor Shavon Sellers, a native of Norfolk, Virginia, is a mighty woman of God who demonstrates God's love to others throughout the country. Her love for God and her commitment to serving helping others is evident through her lifestyle of service. Her walk is evident in her obedience and willingness to trust God in all things. Her full-time mission is to ignite a renewed passion for God in the hearts of men and women everywhere. Pastor Sellers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Norfolk State University. Professionally, she has impacted the lives of children as a teacher in the state of Virginia in the Norfolk and Newport News Public School systems. Above all her accomplishments, she considers raising Godly children her primary purpose. As a mother of two sons and a daughter, she firmly believes that the best way to raise successful children is to actively model what it means to walk in love and integrity. Sought after nationally to minister God's Word in conferences and retreats, she has also authored two powerful books, You are the Prize and Empowering Moments 21 Day Devotional and is currently working on her third publication. In addition to being an author, Pastor Sellers started her musical journey with the release of her CD single "Supreme God", produced recordings of Prayers for Intercession, and a Life After Divorce DVD to help others deal with traumatic experiences. In 2012, Pastor Sellers founded Shavon Sellers Ministries, whose vision is to spread the love of God, ignite the passion of God in others throughout the Kingdom, and to assist others in carrying out their God-given assignments and fulfill purpose. The mission of Shavon Sellers Ministries is to provide services such as vision casting development, leadership development, church planting, ministry coaching, and mentorship. As a subsidiary of Shavon Sellers Ministries, Pastor Sellers has also launched the Shavon Sellers Partnership Program as well as the Empowering Moments Mentorship for men and women. In 2015, Pastor Sellers founded The Prize Foundation, an organization supporting communities in different areas and empowering women. Her desire is to teach life skills, job readiness and ultimately spiritual awareness, and to assist in the holistic recovery of those who have been hurt and abused. Being led of the Holy Spirit, in May 2016 after the leading of the Lord Shavon Sellers planted The Life Center in Chesapeake, VA where the vision is to be the voice and hands on the earth that will help people find their way back to God and begin a new life through Him. On November 19, 2017, Pastor Sellers was officially installed as Pastor of The Life Center in Portsmouth, VA. During her tenure as Pastor, it was her desire to revive believers, reach lost souls and connect people with the Savior. In August 2019, God required Pastor Sellers to release her role as Pastor of The Life Center and she is now fully committed to traveling to spread the gospel and reaching and empowering others through Shavon Sellers Ministries.

Introduction

Maintaining a relationship with Christ requires commitment, dedication, and a desire to become closer to Him. One way to grow closer in your relationship with God is to spend quiet time alone with Him each day. Your faith in Jesus Christ is a daily walk; therefore, you must pray continually and spend time with Him to ensure your faith never waivers. You must be strengthened daily.

There are several ways to spend time with God, one of which is daily devotion. It is my prayer that you will remain humble, committed, and steadfast as you go on this 30-day journey. May you grow closer to God and may you grow into a better understanding of who He is to you. Daily scripture reading is essential to your growth and provides guidance for your next step of faith.

Devotion is also a form of worship. When you can quiet yourself and think about who and what God is to you, you are able to worship Him more freely. You are able to reflect on your relationship and areas of growth. God desires a relationship with you. Just like you are intentional and expend great effort to get to know someone, God requires the same effort. He requires your time. He requires your energy. He requires your love and attention. A key component of all relationships is intimacy, which requires time spent together and getting to know each other.

Surrender your will to God. Talk to Him about the details of your day. Seek direction. Learn His truth and gain wisdom and understanding. When you have done this and spend time in devotion, you will grow to know and understand the voice of God. You will know when He is speaking to you and you will know when the voice may be that of the adversary. You will begin to better understand His promises and the plans that He has for your life.

As you read this devotional, I pray that your walk with Christ and your faith is strengthened. Be intentional. Start each day with prayer. Reflect on your spiritual growth. Take the time to step away from your daily routine and feed your spirit. Quiet time is essential to your walk. May this devotional be a blessing to you and may you be renewed on this journey!!
