#1 The differences between societies are largely due to the traditions that have been passed down from one generation to the next. With decades, centuries, and even millennia worth of traditions being passed down, the gaps between our different societies continue to widen.
#2 I was raised in a Protestant church, and as a result, I had a difficult time accepting many of the teachings of the Catholic Church. I believed that the only doctrine I could follow was found within the pages of the Bible, but I was unable to find any purely Biblical references for many of the Catholic tenets.
#3 Catholicism encompasses both Scripture and Tradition, and they are not seen as two separate forces but as two aspects of the same revelation of God. Tradition expands on the knowledge that we have from the Bible, and they work together to form a greater understanding.
#4 The combination of the Scriptures and Tradition gives us a better look at the whole message of God. Without Tradition, we would be missing out on the teachings that God has given to the leaders of the Church.
