Preface
When a building sustains a crack, it is indication that the foundation has suffered damage. Depending on the magnitude of the fracture, the structure may have to undergo a new renovation or total rebuilding. Building a system shares the similarity with other constructions because there are numerous aspects that must be tied together. In fact, they must remain together continuously! Therefore, undermining the efforts will create irreparable damages to the structures. A government system works only when the people are free to testify without coercion, so political ambiguity is only a false pretense that will help erode the credible establishment of the system. The collapse of the system will show in the lives of the people, and their testimonies are verdicts to repudiate the false presentations of the system. The political unrest around the world is not simply a betrayal of the people’s oaths of alliances or allegiance, but it is a struggle against failure. Attempts to pacify them using the charges of treason will fail in the courts of public opinions, and if the system does not adjust, the cries of the people will prevail.
Political patchwork is not enough to substitute for the people’s real heart feelings. Nations or kingdoms must not see opposition as working against the freedom of the established system, but the freedom of the people or the system will be charged with corruptions. Every corrupt governmental system must venture to the left, often mixing dictatorship with false freedom and liberty. The founding fathers knew to draw the constitutional lines by itemizing the by-laws of the articles of the constitutions. They did not want to leave the people with guesswork, where everyone has to figure out which way to follow. Lawlessness is the gateway to chaos: when people take the laws into their own hands, they become the laws instead of abiding by the rules of law. Anarchy is rising above the mediation of the law, so it is important for the rulers to know why the people are behaving the way they are. Every revolt is an expression of distrust! Therefore, there must be thorough evaluations of the systems to find out what are the things that are contributing to the mass withdrawals of the people.
The tendency to uphold the weak arms of injustice and to systematically undermine any institution that tries to address the concerns are very common everywhere. Democracy has been threatened with annihilation because of the consciousness to maintain a balance of inequality. Those who want democracy in word but not in exercise see the system as a danger rather than breathing life into the system. Enemies of democracy sabotage the moral policies that serve as backbones to the cultures of the system. We are witnessing the corrosion or decay of democracy today in a scale that many generations have not seen it. The selfish mentality to undermine the national interests of nations or kingdoms is consummated openly, and the outcome of the abuses are publicized as evidences of strength. People are bestowed the titles and ranks of geniuses and prodigies and are rewarded for corrupt behaviors.
The temperature of democracy has suffered tremendously in different parts of the world as the democratic systems go through multiple death and resuscitation experiences. It is evident that the powerful will stop at nothing to win the upper hand even if it means exposing the immoral fabrics of democracy. Leaders who understand the meaning of democracy are losing support everywhere, and new false heroes are seeing up-swing momentum, so they are emboldened to carve out depraved political standards to obscure the views. The fight for democracy has become a fight against democracy, and the spectators are split between many opinions. Because a system must be induced with life as a support system, the failure of the integration will create massive void in people’s lives and the societies. The depletion of trust among the people is evidence that the system has been stolen from the careful oversight of those who nurture the flourishing garden of democracy.
I watch in horror today as the political concerts play foreign tunes to unsuspecting audiences who are bound by the oaths of their consciences to stand for what is right. Many do not understand that sudden shifts have occurred to take away the supporting pillars of democracy. If democracy does not see a resurrection, soon or later it will experience a fatal decline. It is uncertain whether people will diagnose the problem in its early development stage in the era of political adventures. The values that hold the structures together can be easily sacrificed for personal achievements and the wound may lead to sudden collapse or death. Democracy is fading away today, and people are searching for the new norms. This is to say that the days or years of democracy are numbered, and it’s only a matter of when will democracy die!
The maintenance of any culture includes keeping the principles of values in place and exploring other means to advance effectiveness and efficiency. Political integrity is unavailable today because political parties have become the gates of martyrdom: everyone is playing to win the attention of the supporters instead of dealing with the core foundations of the democratic system. Henceforth, democracy is bleeding quality by feeding on mere theatrics of political ideologies and promotions of failed concepts. Where there are no new ideas or discoveries, people’s lives will revert to stagnation. Always, newness is like discovering antidotes for the longevity of life. On the other hand, the suspicion of lack of growth will immediately drive a wedge between a system and independent actors who desire to establish alternative structures. Where there is no vision, the people perish!
Fractured Democracy is not written to sow discord among nations or kingdoms, but to show the need for dialogue and resolution. One side must hear the other side, and until a peace accord is established, those who undertake the great task of finding lasting solutions must not relegate their commitment and dedication. The complexity of world peace is not what any ideological concept can address because there are real issues of life beyond political rivalries and accomplishing ideological milestones. The impression to win
