Education, My Ticket Out - Naomi Plair
Introduction
I am a Christian, leader, mother, wife, friend, sister, and a teacher.
○ I wrote this book as a voice for students whose voices are not loud enough for someone to hear.
I wrote this book for the lost, confused, frustrated, lonely, and hurt children.
○ I wrote this book for you: The teenager who struggles to get up in the morning because you just closed your eyes to the mayhem in your home.
○ I wrote this book for you: The one who is affected by a hurt child, a school shooting, a senseless crime on a child, and the one who desires to make a change.
○ I wrote this book for you: The one who has the heart and purpose for helping others and whose accomplishments are measured by those they help.
○ I wrote this book for you: The one who wants to see a wounded bird get up and fly.
In this book, you will get a glimpse into the wandering mind of a teen. You will get a front row seat to see it first-hand...a child who overcame poverty and the afflictions of life by persevering obstacles and challenges while navigating through the added pressures of a toxic environment.
In this book, you will receive special lenses that could potentially see into the soul of a wounded lamb who so desperately wants to escape the jaws of a wolf and be free.
In a book, I will attempt to inspire you to get out of the damaged nest, take that step you have been scared to take and fly like an Eagle.
I speak directly to the student, the parent(s), and the educator(s). We are in this together.
I always wanted to be a fly on the wall to watch my own children when I’m not around. But remember, there is always someone there to help. It takes a village. WE are in this together.
Death Knocking?
My mother was a drug addict, but I knew she cared for me. There were many days that I found her passed out on the floor with a needle stuck in her leg.
Ma, wake up! Momma, wake up!
I’m up, Nay,
she said weakly.
Countless times, as I
