About this ebook
Taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test is a great way to not only assess your Japanese skills, but also to give yourself a concrete goal for your studies.
This book covers most if not all of the vocabulary needed to pass the JLPT N4 test. The test makers no longer give exact specifications, but this collection is based on previous tests and similar level vocabulary.
Every single vocabulary word found in these pages have an example sentence. Also, each word or example has a corresponding sound file. This can also be useful for shadowing to improve your pronunciation.
Find a link in the back of the book to download free sound files of all vocabulary and example sentences. In addition to the over 1,200 sound files for the individual words and sentences, we also created longer "chapter" sound files with English translation after the Japanese. This is so you can listen while on the go without having to need the book.

INTRODUCTION
Taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test is a great way to not only assess your Japanese skills, but also to give yourself a concrete goal for your studies.
Unfortunately, with goal-setting, there is usually a problem maintaining motivation. By paying money and making plans to sit in a test (usually) in a different city, however, you are making a major investment of time and money. There are few pressures in life that can motivate better than time or money. That’s why we always recommend signing up and studying for the JLPT for any serious student of Japanese.
FORMAT OF THIS BOOK
This book is essentially a glorified vocabulary list. However, every single vocabulary word found in these pages have an example sentence. Also, each word or example has a corresponding sound file. This can also be useful for shadowing to improve your pronunciation.
In addition, there are chapter
MP3s which include the Japanese vocabulary word, the example sentence, and then the English translation of the sentence. We put these MP3s together so you can listen while driving, while walking the dog, or while going through the book.
The chapters in the book correspond with the chapter sound files. Each are between 3 to 10 minutes long and can be used with or without the book.
