START WITH A GREETING
The simplest way to bring te reo into your everyday vocabulary is to start with a well-known greeting we’re all capable of – “Kia ora!” Use it to greet friends, whānau, co-workers, shop assistants and anyone else, alternating with “Mōrena” (good morning) and “Haere mai” or “Nau mai” (welcome). This easy but effective first step will get you used to communicating out loud in te reo.
