Chapter 1
The Second Secret
Time and the heavens came into being at the same instant, in order that, if they were ever to dissolve, they might be dissolved together. Such was the mind and thought of God in the creation of time.
—Socrates
The first secret to manifestation is understanding how our mind works. Many seekers learned to tap their mental powers with techniques such as visualization, but later became disillusioned when their desires didn’t manifest. I have worked with many people who felt lost and betrayed by these metaphysical teachings because their stuff
didn’t manifest. I realized the missing key was the lack of understanding of time.
I have been teaching and studying metaphysics for over twenty years and wanted to explore more deeply why there were so many people who practiced metaphysics, yet had trouble manifesting. This book is the culmination of that search. My desire is to help those in despair who are still waiting for their stuff
to arrive.
It made sense to me that time would play such a large role since it affects every aspect of our lives. It is the often-ignored and less-understood part of the manifestation process.
When our desires do not manifest in our time frame, we respond in several ways. Some of us may give up and abandon our desires. Others may feel they did something wrong in the manifestation process, and blame themselves, leading to an endless repetition of the process. Another possibility is that we convince ourselves that the desire we formed is not in alignment with our highest good, and so we choose something else.
All these reactions can change when we take time into consideration. The techniques and concepts taught in this book can be used along with the law of attraction to create the life of our dreams.
This book begins with a deep-dive exploration of how time is measured, and the difference between time in the physical and spiritual realms. This leads us to confront the paradox of time; time does exist on the physical level, yet it is meaningless when viewed from the spiritual perspective. Since time doesn’t constrain our soul, it is possible to transcend time while living in the world. An amazing variety of methods such as meditation, breathwork, and past life regression have helped people move beyond the structure of time to achieve greatness.
Time is a reflection of what is going on inside of ourselves. So if we want to speed up our manifestations, we need to work on ourselves. This involves examining our thoughts and attitudes and assimilating our experiences. Then we can tap our intuition and allow it to guide us so that we don’t waste time with people and things that slow us down.
When we open up to our subconscious in this way, we realize time is our best friend and wants us to fulfill our desires. We can use visualization to show our mind exactly what we want. This mental rehearsal can literally save us days, months, and even years in manifesting our desires. Visualization is especially beneficial when it comes to relationships. There is no need for us to spend so much time hoping and wishing for that special someone. We have the tools to create compatible relationships.
We will study six of the universal laws that specifically relate to time. Knowing how these laws work can give us a huge advantage in the manifestation process and the rate of our evolution.
I will show why engaging in service to others will actually benefit us as much as the receiver. Giving puts us in the driver seat and sets everything in motion. I’ll also caution everyone to slow down! Although this might seem contrary to our agenda of moving things along, it will actually help us manifest more quickly. I’ll teach you how to recognize the tricks of the ego that cause us to rush through life and how to slow down and smell the roses.
Nature can teach us many things about balance and timing. Our exploration of the four seasons will help us get into the flow. When we are out of balance, we can use one of the four elements to readjust our inner clock. Lastly, when we still feel out of sync and our stuff
isn’t manifesting, it may be time to do some preparation. Many of us want to skip vital steps in order to get to our final destination, but that often leaves us frustrated and blocked from getting the very things we want.
Our conscious mind expects things to happen in a certain order. When an event out of sequence occurs, our first reaction may be to freak out! I hope what I share about events happening out of order will help you appreciate the bigger picture and gain a deeper perspective.
I conclude this book with chapters on my two favorite tools for understanding time cycles: numerology and astrology. I will teach you how to use these tools for predictive purposes and taking advantage of the opportunities that each cycle provides. Any doubts about the validity of these intuitive sciences will perhaps be dispelled when I share the success stories of people who triumphed by taking action during advantageous numerological and astrological cycles.
My hope is that after reading this book, we won’t be so quick to abandon our desires when they don’t manifest quickly. Rather, we will use the concepts in this book to understand why our desires may not be coming to fruition. Then we can apply the techniques to speed things up.
Let’s begin the journey together!
Chapter 2
Time Exploration
The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.
—Leo Tolstoy
Time affects every facet of our lives. We live according to time, planning our schedules based on this illusory thing. For eons mystics have pondered what time is and if it really exists. It is something we usually want more of. It is a mystical thing that is always moving. Sometimes it seems to go slow, other times it moves so fast we don’t realize it has passed. Time is sometimes our friend and sometimes our foe. In this chapter we will explore what time is, how we measure it, how to use it wisely, and how time is measured differently according to where we are.
We are like a seed that has its own growth cycle. If we look in nature, we see that every plant has its own cycle of growth. An apple seedling can take from six to ten years to grow into a tree that bears fruit. Meanwhile, a mung bean seed will sprout in two to three days after planting and is mature in ninety to one hundred twenty days. We came into this lifetime with a blueprint for our growth, which indicates when certain events will happen in our lives. We are all different seeds growing at different times and rates. Experiences are like water to a seed, triggering us to expand and grow beyond what we were yesterday.
What is time? Since time is nonphysical, the best we can do is to describe our experience of it. One way to describe time physically is by the rising and setting of the sun. We experience time in the form of nature. We are aware of the seasons changing, and this is one way we can measure the passing of time. We become more aware of time when we are struggling and in pain, or bored and have nothing to focus on. When we are happy and our mind is actively engaged in some form of creativity, or mentally focused on problem solving, then we become less aware of this space called time.
When we are being triggered by some challenging event, this engages our attention so we become aware of time. Triggers are events in our lives that wake us up. They cause us to look at things differently. Triggers cause us to go into crisis mode, where we are forced to look within. Depending on the severity and intensity of the trigger, we have the potential to learn a lot or a little. We need the triggers to wake up because the ego likes complacency and wants to be in control. Triggers move us beyond complacency to a place where we begin to question who we are and what our purpose is in life. The ego doesn’t want us to question such things.
The purpose of the space between triggers is to allow us to process the event and then respond. Can you imagine if our life was one trigger after
