    addiction

I’m an addict to the fire.

It’s that shit that keeps happening…

    Bad boys ain’t no good.

    Good boys ain’t no fun.

    Been trying for many years

    To revive this bitter petal

    Come back from the ashes

    As that phoenix.

    Rising above the darkness

    Yet…

    It’s almost everlasting

    God’s winds are too strong.

    Why everything that’s wrong

    Feels so good…

But my heart breaks so bad.

Looking for just a drop of octane

    To make this soul shake.

    Straight terror in my heart

    Landmines fill this spirit

    Hot to the touch.

    I take this blood

    Dire and dark.

Shedding and dripping from the source

    As if there’s no end.

How’s my heart coming back from this?

    This silence is violence.

Makes it hard to be intellectual.

    Talkin’ about the qualitative and

Quantitative method to this woman’s pain.

    Come with philosophical…

    The phenomenological.

    The biopsychosocial…

    Crawling through broken glass

    On my ass

Trying to find the correlation between

    My soul and existence.

    Going through a downward spiral

    In heartbreak.

    But I’m coming home.

Feeling like the blood on this paper

    Isn’t enough.

    From ashes I rise.

    How many variables

    Need to be considered before

    It’s my time?

I’m here to bring the drama.

    Pause…

    Wait one second.

How vicious can I be on the awakening?

    From ashes…

    It’s time to come home.

    Bear witness.

    I’m coming home.

Being born within a prophet’s breath

My skin the color of the sun

    Eyes visualizing Heaven.

    Angels just staring back…

    I’m ready.

My home isn’t where you think it is.

    My bare feet find home

On sizzling concrete and broken glass.

    It’s real.

    Fighting desire and demons.

    You’re uninvited… Yet here.

I feel the pulse of the world

As I extend my hand to the air.

    It meets every heartbeat

    Reminding me I’m here.

    This heart never rests.

    I’m looking for you.

    The theory to my hypothesis…

    The meaning behind

    My
