#1
The second year of life is when many GAPS children start developing fussy eating habits, refusing a lot of foodstuffs and limiting their diet to a handful of foods. They would often refuse to have vegetables, fruit, meats, fish, and eggs.
#2
The symptoms of autism are extremely uncomfortable for children, who cannot communicate their feelings to their parents. They express their feelings in other ways, such as self-stimulation, self-destruction, and tantrums.
#3
The first function of the lymph nodes is to filter the tissue liquid coming from the ileum and remove bacteria, viruses, fungi, dead cells, and various toxins. They also produce lymphocytes, a major group of immune system cells that fight infections.
#4
There has been a lot of research linking schizophrenia with digestive abnormalities similar to coeliac disease. The majority of schizophrenic patients suffer from digestive problems, which start in early childhood.
#5
The human body is a planet inhabited by huge numbers of different micro-creatures. The diversity and richness of this life on every one of us is probably as amazing as the life on Earth itself.
#6
The human digestive tract is a long tube open to the outside world at its start and at its end. The bacterial layer that covers the entire length of the digestive tract provides a natural barrier against invaders, undigested food, toxins, and parasites.
#7
The gut wall not only becomes unprotected, but also malnourished without well-functioning gut flora. The beneficial bacteria living on the gut epithelium digest the food that comes along, converting it into nourishing substances for the gut lining.
#8
The gut flora is the housekeeper of the digestive system. The state of the house and its ability to fulfil its purposes depends on how good the housekeeper is.
#9
The main purpose of having a digestive system is to be able to digest and absorb food. Without healthy gut flora, the digestive system cannot perform these functions efficiently. The best foods and supplements may not be absorbed if the gut flora is damaged.
#10
Some foods cannot be digested by a human gut without the help of good bacteria. Dietary fiber is an example. Without the bacterial action on fiber, it can become dangerous for the digestive system.
#11
The majority of GAPS patients look pale and pasty, and their blood tests often show changes typical for anaemia. Many of these patients have been prescribed iron tablets by their doctors, but it takes much more to remedy anaemia than supplementing iron.
#12
The roots of a tree, which are its invisible, hidden deep under the ground, play a crucial role in the well-being of every branch, twig, and little leaf. In the same way, the diverse and multiple functions of gut flora reach far beyond the gut itself.
#13
The immune system is compromised in people with GAP Syndrome. Their immune system begins to produce antibodies that attack the body’s own tissues, including the brain and the rest of the nervous system. This happens because the gut wall’s lymphoid tissue is not properly developed in children who do not have a healthy bacterial population.
#14
The gut wall is also home to immune cells called lymphocytes, which produce immunoglobulins to protect the wall from invaders. When there is a deficiency of beneficial bacteria in the gut, other groups of
