    INTRODUCTION

    If you’re reading this book, the very first thing I want you to know before you turn another page is that you are not alone in how you feel. How do I know this? I know this because my start in functional medicine all began with my own health crisis starting as far back as high school, and I see patients in my practice dealing with very similar issues you may be suffering from today.

    Before you dive into this book, I want to share my personal story with you. I want you to know that I’m not just the standard functional medicine practitioner. I am a practitioner who has been in your shoes and has been down the modern medical route time and time again with disappointment. This is why I am passionate about what I do, because I can relate to almost every one of my patients on a personal level. I know how hard it is to be sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and feeling like no doctor can give you an answer. This is why it’s my mission to help patients uncover their own personal root cause each day I show up to work. So here is my story, and how I went from being sick to finding my root cause and eventually putting all of my symptoms into remission. I believe that it sets the tone for the book—that there is hope and that feeling better is possible.
