About this ebook

Collin was Radvar’s third, and he had called dibs on Jules when they had first met. Unfortunately, no one, not even her, seemed to care. He’d all but given up when Radvar had decided to send them to Mars colony with a small team. This would be his last chance to show her they belonged together.
Jules had been a medical researcher and while she held a doctorate, she was not a trained medical doctor. Now she was training to be one as she saw many of the humans that didn’t want to see a healer. Collin was alright and maybe they would get together later, but right now she was learning a new job.
He wasn’t willing to keep pursuing her while she only wanted to put things off. Would Radvar find a way to show them they belonged together?

Crystal Dawn

When she’s not out hunting rogue vampires and werewolves, you can find Crystal Dawn out exploring the galaxy. She can do it all without ever leaving her computer. She kicks ass, takes names, and puts it all down for the enjoyment of her readers. At least that’s what I think she told me. Writing came as a natural outlet for her overly creative mind. She has always told stories and even written some but publishing books didn't start until 2012 with The Rebirth, was the first of the Planet Amazon books. Crystal has also been lucky to have some wonderful beta readers who keep her on track and help inspire her.Secretly, she crushes on all her sexy heroes because all her stories end happily. That is one of the things that makes writing such a joy. Knowing that it makes her reader's day a little brighter. Not that she doesn't read sad books sometimes. While still in school, she read Where the Red Fern Grows and cried like a baby. It was a wonderful book and sometimes a bit of sadness has to be put in books because that's part of life. While she reads all kinds of books at some time or another, PNR and SFR, which she writes is what she reads the most for pleasure. When she started writing, she decided on going Indie after the first two books because an author has more control. She believes Indie will compete well and continues to grow. The need to give pleasure to her readers keeps her going and she sees a long career ahead. Growing up mostly in the NW Arkansas area, it has given her a good place to set some stories and many of her characters come from there or nearby SW Missouri. The start of her stories is the easy part. Finishing them is a little harder when all the stories are in there trying to get out. She loves reading, chocolate, fine sweet wine, and traveling among a large list of pursuits. Her favorite people, after her family and close friends, are her readers who she says are some of the most wonderful people in this galaxy and the next.

    Chieftains of the Majuri series

    Book 1

    Chief Radvar

Sucked through an anomaly that took them far away through time and space, Chief Radvar and his crew are completely lost, but not alone. Their ancient enemy, the Dramites, on a ship they’d been chasing were pulled through along with them.

With no choice, but to find a planet to resupply on, they were moving further away from the place the anomaly had spit them out. Trying to figure out where they were, a scientist suggest the area looks like a description of the way to Earth.

Radvar is annoyed. Now they are trying to feed him fairy tales rather than to just admit they are clueless. The problem is a blue and white marble appears below them and its people call it Earth. Is the name lost in translation or are all the old legends true?

He will get his people back home or he will build a new life for them. And this Earth? They will supply whatever he needs because he isn’t the Chief without good reason.

    Book 2

    Junior

Talai wasn’t angry, she was furious. It was true they’d made no commitment to each other, but their relationship had been building toward something. She was sure of it until she had walked into the emergency shelter and seen that female in his arms. It was a sight difficult to forget and goddess knows she’d tried. Maybe she was just meant to be alone and help others with their children.

He was innocent and he’d been wrongly convicted in the court of unfortunate circumstances. Talai refused to talk to him much less explain what had happened. That female had taken it upon herself to offer something he didn’t want and now he was suffering for it. As much as he hated to admit it, Shay was right, and he should have taken Talai the day he’d met her.

Was there any way things could ever work out between these two stubborn people? It would be a hard journey but if they would both open their hearts, anything was possible.

    Book 3

    Darin

Darin wants Jade. It’s as simple as that, but she won’t take him seriously. Now they are sent on a colonization mission that will use all their talents and maybe she’ll see that he’s a mature warrior. He’s waited long enough and it’s time to show her the amazing chemistry that lies between them waiting to be released.

Jade feels bad, okay, not really. Darin is handsome and he’s got the body of a warrior, but when she compares him to some of the others, he doesn’t seem ready to be a mate. Others tell her it’s his sense of humor and when they’re old, she’ll be thankful for it. She’s just not sure and that means he’ll have to wait. How long is anyone’s guess.

    Book 4

    Mike

Mike, the uncle of Shay and her siblings, was an important human on Jaded. His future mate, Bekka, who was a Majuri healer, was second only to Talai the head healer among the medical crew. They had dated a while, but neither were in a hurry to mate. Mike had been married before and loved his wife dearly. Maybe that was why he was in no particular hurry.

Bekka sensed his reluctance to finish their bond, so she didn't push him. Sometimes she had doubts, but they had become the best of friends and the attraction was there, but they hadn’t had sex. Was it enough?

Radvar decided to push them and regardless of the dangers, he sent them to get the prison planet set up and organized. Would it push them together or pull them apart? Only time would tell.

    Book 5

    Collin

    Prologue

They were friends. Earth males called it the friend zone and joked about how bad it was to be located in it. Those guys viewed friends with benefits as slightly better, but he got no benefits. None knew how to escape that friend designation, but he needed to. He wanted to mate her, but she seemed to have no such interest in him. If only, but no. Jules didn’t seem to care.

Radvar had changed his mind on what he wanted them to do then changed it back. Now a trip to Mars was once again in their future, but this time they were all packed and leaving in the morning. On the ship, he’d be in charge but once they were planet side, they would share the responsibility to make a deal with the leaders of Mars.

Earth had all they needed from the red planet, and they had cut them loose. If they were to survive, they needed Radvar’s good will. The problem, and there was always a problem, was not everyone on Mars knew they couldn’t survive without help. Those were the ones that wanted to be isolated. They were glad Earth was leaving them alone but didn’t realize after a few years they would run out of food and other necessities and people would starve or die from lack of medicine or even breathable air.

How did you negotiate with people who thought they had everything they needed?

    Chapter 1

    Mars Bound

The ship was loaded with trade goods that could go to Mars or Earth depending on who was most receptive. Radvar preferred they deal with Mars to get the metals they needed to build more ships, but he’d had trouble dealing with them in the past. He had no intention of leaving them with no way out if the deal he wanted went south.

Collin was grateful that he had a way out just in case. Dealing with difficult people wasn’t his thing and he supposed that was why Jules had been partnered with him. It was true that Radvar was matchmaking, but the couples he sent on missions were also the best for that particular job as well.

Right now, he was flashed up to the ship and he put his stuff in his room. Heading for the bridge, he relieved the warrior on duty just a bit early. He would go planet side and go to his next assignment. Several of the crew had been onboard long enough and would be replaced by his team. Jules would takeover medical along with other people from down below.

Many of those came up early getting in position and relieving those onboard. As he watched, others took their place at the com, navigation, and other places. His second was already in place and when his whole team checked in, they would leave. It wasn’t long before they had them all. He nodded and his navigator took them away.

There was no sharing quarters, what a shame. Jules would have her own and he didn’t see any way this mission would bring them closer. He still had hope since Radvar had done well in bringing the other couples together. Looking at his screen, he saw Jules was in medical. That was where she would be most of the trip. Once they arrived, she would go down to the surface with him and they would meet with the group they would negotiate with.

Radvar had preselected a group of guards to protect them. He and Jules were good warriors, but they were also family, and he didn’t want to lose them. Collin felt secure in that fact. That the mission was a tough one was no surprise. Radvar expected much of those he was close to. They were moving along at a fast clip now leaving their home far behind.

What was hard was not to check on Jules and she was in medical working on her latest project. She had no time for romance as she worked hard without pause. He’d seen few people keep as busy as she did. It seemed nothing he did could draw her attention away from her work. Maybe he should just give up?

Jaded was now far behind and they couldn’t even see it on their screen as they moved out into open territory. Two days had passed, and he’d not seen Jules. That simply wouldn’t do. She was going to the cafeteria, so he had one of the guys take over and he went to join her. Grabbing a tray, he filled a plate, got a drink, and silverware, then he joined her.

How are you doing today, Jules?

I’m fine, just tired. She replied.

    Working too hard?

    No, I’m just fighting boredom.

    We could play some games?

    Games? Like what?

We have card games and board games. There are both human and Majuri games available. Collin explained. Any games you like in particular?

    You have poker?

We do. She seemed excited to be playing. He hoped he didn’t lose his shirt.

Others were excited when they saw the game out. Soon they had three others playing at their table and another table with five players also playing. Jules won the first hand then he won the second. After that, Jules won more than anyone, but she didn’t dominate the game. He was second, but the others each won some games.

Jules came out ahead, but they played for rocks and beads. There was some value in them but just a little more than playing for coins. No one left angry unlike the other table where they played for big bucks. Jameson had cleaned everyone out. They should learn not to play for the large amounts. It rarely paid most people. Jameson had always been a card shark.

Several of the warriors were angry. Even the other human player was pissed. He didn’t believe Jameson cheated, but losers usually thought they couldn’t have lost without help. Collin felt bad for those who lost more than they could afford to especially when they were on a trading trip. Those who had kept what they valued most would bring back things that would help them live better.

He intended to trade for those things that would finish his home and buy things to ease life for him and his mate. Whether that was Jules or now he was thinking someone else. There was only so long a male could wait and hope. There were several young attractive females that had tried to get his attention. At the end of this trip if he wasn’t mated, his attention would be gotten by one of them.

The game was over, and he was considering not allowing betting on ship anymore. Jules went back to her medical and he went to the bridge. One of the younger navigators had taken the spot while he’d been gone. She was very friendly and obviously trying to get his attention. The girl was trying to get his attention when the door opened, and Jules came in. She caught some of the looks the navigator had been sending him.

Jules didn’t look pleased. As little attention as she herself gave him, he wondered why she cared. Jules. Something going on in medical?

Leaning in, she whispered in his ear. There had been an attempted murder. Jameson had been stabbed in the back. If I didn’t get to him right away, he’d be dead. She said as he walked beside her as they headed to medical.

You think it was related to the game? He asked.

I don’t know of anything else, but that doesn’t mean something else hasn’t happened. I have him under guard.

He expected that. If left alone, he might end up dead. I guess I’d better assign someone to investigate. Radvar will not be impressed.

He’ll understand things happen. Some of the crew has been on board for some time.

Yes, but not long enough to expect this kind of behavior.

This is just the beginning of our trip. I hope they settle in and calm down.

He hoped so too. This was not what he would usually expect on a trip. There were some underlying issues going on here. They would have to be careful to keep Jameson alive. Going to the security office, Ford sat at his desk. Looking up, he gave
