About this ebook
A Dream Fufilled A Traveler's Journey is about my journey around the world as I explore different cultures and communities that are impacted by the lack of educational opportunities. From 2009, where my journey began in San Jose Costa Rica, I began teaching English as a second language to native students. Through friendships and connections with locals and students, I also undergo a transformation of growth, maturity and personal healing. The best part of my stories are highlighted through my experiences teaching and living in Brazil from 2013-2016, during the World Cup and Olympic Games. Not only does this memoir have personal stories shared by myself and locals, but it also addresses many of the different social issues in those countries. This book is filled with poems, drawings and pictures that will show you my sentiments throughout my journey traveling to different wanderlust places.
Wade Cameron
My life has always been filled with drama and despair for as long as I could remember. Born from the Island of Jamaica, I migrated to the US in the early 90’s, at the age of 10. I settled in the Westchester area where I grew up and matured into the person I am today. I graduated from Ossining High School in 2000 and went on to Mercy College where I graduated with a Degree in Journalism/Media. During my time at Mercy College I found and developed my passion for writing. I currently work with children as an ELA teacher. My ultimate goal in the near future is to utilize my creativity and expand it through all from of art. Whether its screenplay writing, shot stories, memories, or novels, my intentions is provide you with clips and stories that will paint the perfect picture.

FLICKERING STARLIGHT
Flickering starlight, burning with luminous
light, capturing the night—
Why is it so impossible for you to be seen
when you burn with radiant light?
They could never understand you, your determination,
your will, your fight.
How can they, when they ridicule you?
And pass judgment, dimming your flickering starlight,
But in the depth of your solitude, you’ve shown your perseverance,
As you have shone through the twilight
Flickering starlight, keep close to the moonlight, till
the moment arrives, revealing your star bright.
POEM1.jpgBLOOMING FLOWER
Blooming f lower, which rose from the riverbank
How you defied reality’s expectations, marking your own rank
How could they not see your beauty? Your elegance
Proving in doubt, you can handle suspense
They saw your tilted stem, and never gave you a second glance
Knowing all you needed was a proven chance
You sprouted from the grout, which gave you pain
But with much determination, you could sustain
With years of rain, confidence you gained
Directed by the sun, look how far you came
Marveled by your rose petals, you’re a true example made.
poem2.jpgTHE STRENGTH OF THE LION
Look at the strength of the lion,
As he moves swiftly through the jungle,
As others observe, contemplating his troubles.
Look at how he dictates the pace,
Relying on his instincts, engaged in the race.
Look at the strength of the lion,
As others are frightened, with the troubles they face—
But the lion must be fed regardless, because
in the jungle, one must be fearless.
Look at the strength of the lion, as he moves in numbers,
Roaming through the plains, flexing his muscles.
Look at the strength of the lion, as he sits and waits,
As his brilliance is revealed, showing what it takes.
poem3.jpgTHE WINK OF AN EYE
Reputations can kill,
The wind blows mightily at will,
Pain can bring tears to one’s eyes,
Anger can rupture one’s entire inside,
Fear can bring uncertainty,
But a mended heart brings stability,
A confused mind can lead one astray,
But a confident person can always show the way.
The moon shines and brings light to the night,
But a wise person always knows what’s right.
The significance of a smile can capture one’s sight,
But a wink of an eye can send shivers to one’s spine.
poem4.jpgWHEN THE SUN RISES
When the sun rises, look out in the sky.
If you stare long enough, it just might catch your eye.
Feel the warmth, the light, the joy, the comfort,
And the power of its smile,
Witness its transformation and the vision in your eyes,
Because when the sun rises, keep the picture in your mind,
And treasures you’ll seek and find,
Because at times, the feelings will be unstable,
The logic will be unbearable,
But when the sun rises,
Just keep hope alive,
Because when the sun sets,
It’s now or never, without any regrets.
poem5.jpgTHE FIRE IN MY EYES
Look at the fire in my eyes, as it glows so bright.
Look at its oval shape, revealing the light.
Its beauty can only be seen in the, night,
The fire is so radiant and pure,
The element of its origin is sure.
The fire sparks with so much rage and so much fury,
Its f lames spread vastly, which can’t be buried.
My mind and body you sometimes rule;
At times, I need to be drenched in the cool,
My passion and ambition you spark,
As I continue to lure you from the dark.
The fire continues to burn deeply, as I keep
observing and playing my part.
poem6.jpgPASSING STAR—DEDICATED
TO VINCENT VAN GOGH
A mastermind at your craft,
Obsessed with sharing your art—
What an uncaring and selfish society.
You had mysteries beyond the skies,
So your imagination we saw through your eyes.
You carried your fame with profound dignity,
Even though through your masterpieces, we can sense the misery.
Your masterpiece Starry Night was a classic;
My mind drifts at times, trying to comprehend the graphics.
Your masterpiece could never be replaced,
Your inspiration brought smiles to our face,
Your art, the world saw and could relate.
Thanks for sharing your gift, as your light is
transcended to a different place.
poem7.jpgWHEN THE HEART FREEZES
When the heart freezes,
It causes your heart to be still.
Like the cold night air, it makes your entire body chill.
Like an incurable disease, it makes your body ill.
It spreads through the wall of your veins and inflicts pain,
When the heart freezes, it shuts down your internal organs.
No feelings or recollection of anything, no purpose for breathing.
When the heart freezes, you’ll feel nothing at all,
As the heart becomes emotionless, with no tears to bawl.
When the heart freezes, the mind has the ability to question things,
Reflecting on being, putting thoughts into reason.
When the heart freezes, just hold on strong
Because lies a sacred place, to where we belong.
poem8.jpgACCEPTANCE
God made me a proposition I couldn’t refuse,
So I’m going after it, without second thoughts to lose.
Most times, my mind wanders like a continental drift,
Searching for a place where my creativity will lift.
Sometimes, I’m lost within this reality, trying
to comprehend life’s mysteries.
So when I stray away, don’t be surprised, because
God made me this way, until the day I die,
Until I discover my talents and figure out how to fly.
poem9.jpgFOLLOW YOUR DREAM
Follow your heart, follow your dreams,
Go towards your destination with a full head of steam,
Have visions; go toward your mission,
Follow the rainbow until you reach your destination.
Seek and you shall find, open your eyes
Before the treasure is lost, and your vision is blind.
Sometimes it rains; don’t worry about the pain
Because in the end the sun will shine its rays.
Hope is always the key and sometimes our only clue
To unlock the door and discover our tools.
Sometimes we feel like we fail,
Like a hammer that can’t be put on a point of a nail,
But never give up, because you must fulfill your tale,
Just follow your dreams, and in the end you’ll prevail.
poem10.jpgTR APPED INSIDE A DREAM REALM
I’ve been trapped inside this dream realm
Since the age of ten.
It’s a mystic place where immortal men can’t be dead,
Where angels have wings, and have the ability to f ly.
Inside this realm, every person is alive,
Massive wings to propel them into the sky.
It’s a place where a genius has sight,
Creative masterpieces to carry through the night.
If you look to the stars, their light is luminous and bright.
Inside this realm, no one has the ability escape.
Every person decides his or her own fate.
Inside this realm, my mind is relaxed,
As I construct my own illustrations and write my own facts.
Trapped inside the dream realm, my mind
can conjugate colors and shapes,
Simplifying the world and how it relates.
poem11.jpgWHEN A POET CRIES
When a poet cries,
Emotions are hard to put into words.
Like a speck of dust, trapped in vacuum,
The tears are bittersweet and warm,
Like a boy lost in the wilderness, trying to find his way home.
Feelings are overwhelmed, like a tidal wave come crashing in.
Like a seashell,
