    Introduction

This book is intended to show people who I am now, and where I came from, and what I have done to be where I am today. As you read this book, you will see all the things that took place in my life before I came to the lord. It is an example of no matter what you’ve faced in the past, you still can become what God called you to be, follow what he intended for your life, and that you still can be successful. If I had not gone through some things, I would not have been who I am today or been a better person.

Just know you have to be everything God wants and that your past will always be your past, and that the devil cannot stop you even though you have had some challenges while growing up. You can be your best! I want you to know, not to let your past catch up with your future! I refused to be tormented by my past! I refused to be laughed at, about what I’ve done! I refuse to let my past get me down, when I think about or talk about it! I refuse to listen when negativity comes my way!

I used my past as a stepping stone to push me forward, and not to hold me hostage, in the things I had already overcome. I do not regret my past at all, I just look at it and say, Thank God I made it through! My past is in the past and I did overcome it. So blessings to you as you read through my past experiences that made me who I am today. I never quit, but I did stop running to see what God wanted.

    CHAPTER 1

    Childhood Years

    The Murder of my Mom

Hello, my name is Glenda Ann Lovett. My maiden name was Armstrong. I am married now. My husband's name is Joseph G. Lovett. I was born to my Father, Y.C. Armstrong, and Ruby Jean Small, on November 24, 1959.

In the year 1963, I became motherless, at the age of four.  My mother was killed by her husband, my dad. I was awakened out of my sleep that night. I can remember hearing voices that night and seeing shadows. There were all kinds of ideas running through my mind.

I remember being hungry. I went to the kitchen, opened the refrigerator, and got some cornbread to eat. I remember walking back into the living room, but I don’t remember anything else after that. Everything went blank.
