The sun was already up, rising steadily over the horizon and shining down on the meadow with barely a wisp of cloud to be seen in the clear blue sky. The landscape was the very picture of winter, still blanketed in snow so thick you would never know it was already March.

Sitting by the side of a long road was a solitary house big enough to be a country mansion. The wintry hills and fields could all be seen from the second-story bedroom window without another building for miles around to spoil the view.

The sun was shining into his eyes, forcing him to bury his face in the pillow while the woman sharing the bed with him wrapped her arm around his waist.
