Loanne Rhymes

Loanne Rhymes is a poet, writer, and author of this new book ‘From Hell To Well': . Loanne's experience with trauma both from childhood and beyond are reflected in her poems. She hopes that this book will help people who have experienced trauma to realise that they are not alone, and they have the power to recover from their injuries and regain self-esteem, using the multitude of therapy and coping techniques that are available. She states “I am not saying therapy will magically fix the wounded parts of you, therapy can help you be self-aware on a daily practice and to allow love and happiness and true acceptance of self. It may be cliché to say but it’s true, if this book helps even a handful of people I will be happy. It is uplifting to know that what I went through in my life can be used for good, to raise awareness of the effects of trauma. The power to change your self-concept is within you”.

    Foreword

Many people throughout life suffer from trauma. My hope is that these words bring you comfort and assist in your healing journey.

Personally I spent decades in pain, it had become an habitual negative force in my life. These poems were part of my healing process and random notes evolved into a real therapy.

Trauma has had an impact on every part of my life. A skilled therapist has helped me over the last two years, I have come to appreciate the importance of self-respect and love.

The process was painful at first but has helped me to heal and to communicate effectively using strategies and techniques for life’s challenges.

It is my greatest wish that my story and advice will help you or someone you know on the journey to recovery.

Warning: the subject of emotional, physical, sexual abuse covered may be triggering.

    Thanks to:

My Mum for making me, and not forsaking me.

All those who love and care for me. Thanks, I could not have done it without you.

Thanks to Clare Bowditch, for helping to silence my inner critics and inspiring me to write about them.
