Morgan woke up to the sound of silence.  She sat up in her huge empty bed and pulled off the pink silk sleeping mask that covered the large portion of her face.  She looked around her bedroom for a few minutes before she rose from the pallet.  She undressed and tossed her clothes onto the black marble floor as she walked to the nearby bathroom.

Morgan yawned lazily as she entered the spacious bathroom.  She showered quickly and wrapped herself in a towel and left the bathroom.  She walked into her bedroom and dressed quickly.

When she was done preparing herself for the day, she left her bedroom.  She walked through her apartment and entered the kitchen.

She sat in the dark blue leather chair that had been pushed beneath the glass furnishing.  She stared at the documents with a growing sense of despair.

Morgan was in dire financial trouble.

To the world and all of her friends, she was the happy heiress with millions of dollars in the bank and three successful businesses that she should be proud of.

    Only that wasn't true.

After a series of failed investments, destructive interpersonal relationships and two criminal accountants, most of Morgan's millions were gone.

Due to the declining economy, her businesses were also failing.

Her once successful chains of clothing boutiques were on the verge of bankruptcy.  And her upscale bedding and linen stores were not generating any revenue at all.  Eight of her ten linen stores were on the brink of losing their building leases.

Her new slightly trustworthy accountant had performed an extensive review of her finances and the state
