FOREWORD
"The great commission is not an option; it is a command to be obeyed (Hudson Taylor)
This book is a revised edition of an earlier publication by the author, titled Evangelism Made Easy; and is completely resetted. The pages has been expanded with new insights and information. Relevant quotations has been appropriately placed at the beginning of the chapters to stimulate the reader into action and most importantly, give him a ready insight to what the scriptures says about outreach to souls. It is the fervent prayer of the author that this enhanced edition will be of great help to all soul winners-M.M.C.
THE WHY
OF THE MATTER
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come
(Mat. 24:14)
If you are doing something and you don’t know why you are doing it in the first place, how can you do it well? How can you be committed to it? Will you not be wasting your time on something you cannot really place your finger on the reason why you are doing it? Do you just see people running and you also start running, when you don’t know why they are running? You will want to know why and what they are running from or where they are running to. There ought to be a reason why you do the things you do. If you know why you are doing what you are doing, that helps you to put your heart into it; you do it without coercion or hesitation, and more importantly, you derive joy from doing it. Why is outreach so important? Because that is what the great commission is all about:
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
(Mat. 28:19)
Why must we be the one to do it? Because the mantle has been laid upon us to do it.
For though I preach the Gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel
(1 Cor. 9:16)
Why is no excuse acceptable? Because it is a task that must be done at all cost. Millions, yea billions of lives are hinged on it. Why must it be done now? Because the harvest is ready:
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then commeth harvest? Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest
(John 4:35)
Why must it be this particular gospel of Christ? Because "It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth..." (Rom. 1:16-17)
We must go out to preach the good news because it is an urgent message of the kingdom that must be carried out to all people. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself went about preaching this gospel. If Christ the King of kings is preaching this Gospel of the kingdom, how can we his followers stand aloof? He went everywhere spreading this Gospel of the kingdom.
And Jesus went about Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people
(Mat. 4:23)
And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent
(Luke 4:43)
The kingdom message is of so great importance for the King of kings himself to be on the road spreading it. There is no time to waste. The more you look around and see souls wandering about without Christ and missing out on the kingdom, the more you see the reason why we should be out there preaching as authorized by our Lord Jesus. The command is GO
SIMPLY DEFINED
"Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus."
