About this ebook

Cover Blurb:

"Everyone needs a hobby, but not everyone's hobby involves blood, entrails, and... roadkill.

Tatum Johnson didn't mean to hit the dog. His ex-girlfriend Jessica can attest to that. But that didn't stop the hunger. Now, he hunts along the back roads, running down animals for sport.

But on a night as pitch black as his soul, fate puts Tatum on a different road where new horrors await. On this night, Justice is served."

This solo debut short story by horror author Dan B. Fierce is just a sampling of the horrors that will await the reader in the Cabin 187 series.

TRIGGER WARNING!

This short story depicts violence against animals. Don't worry, though; they get even.

Author

Dan B. Fierce

Dan B. Fierce lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with his partner of nineteen-plus years. He has four short stories published, along with another in the works. “Warning Shot,” “Mistaken,” and “Revenge,” are contained within the 2020 Indie Authors' Short Story Anthology, and “Abandoned Bikes” in Clues and Culprits An Anthology by the Indie Authors' Group. Though he's just starting out his career as a published author, Dan has enjoyed writing for most of his life. He wrote as a hobby for over ten years in a competitive format known as "e-fedding." (Think of it as fan fiction for wrestling fans. The best stories would win their matches.) He has a collection of short horror stories in the works called Cabin 187, as well as an upcoming novel entitled Killer Punchlines, hoping to release both in 2022.

    About the Author

    DEDICATION

This short story is dedicated to my husband, Brian, my family, friends, fellow authors in my circle, and coworkers.

You all put up with my twisted imagination, flakiness, and procrastination. (More about that later.)

This small victory is as much yours as it is mine.

Thank you all for being my support base.

    I love you all.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Special thanks to Mustang Patty, Moaner Lawrence, Christienne Gillespie, Angel Esqueda, Angelique Anderson, Dean Boese, and Sarah Stewart for your help in perfecting this story.

    CHAPTER ONE

Tatum Johnson wiped his pride and joy down with a chamois. This car, his baby, only saw any action when he got the itch, a need deep inside of him to go hunting. That was what he called it: hunting. The truth was no amount of scrubbing or buffing could rid his monstrous creation of the stains that peppered its grill. Or its driver’s soul.

He knew what he was doing
